Notes on a Conditional Form

[edit]

I really don't have time for this. Why are you removing sourced content in this page. Regardless of the number of sources, the genres can still be included. You didn't really give a good explanation for this in your edit summaries. Bowling is life (talk) 00:23, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Bowling is life: The content is not removed, it's already been included within the prose and mentions his evaluation of the album. The problem becomes if you base the genres off of his review (a single critic), you'd need to include all the genres mentioned by every reviewer. We'd end up with dozens of genres. Experimental is in there since several critics called it such. I'd be happy to work with you to find more sources to build a stronger consensus for what you've added. A barnstar for you!

The Barnstar of Diligence
For your massive expansion of music articles including Frail State of Mind and TooTimeTooTimeTooTime! — Bilorv (talk) 19:12, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi (CA)Giacobbe! As with the barnstar above, I saw your contributions to TooTimeTooTimeTooTime and Frail State of Mind and they're really good and real improvements to the articles. However, I noticed that you added some images to Commons for use in the articles, two of music video screenshots and one of an artist, taken from a news article about them. These files are all copyrighted and as such cannot be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. In the case that you see images of artists or other living people on Wikipedia, these are (almost without exception) only images published under free licenses, compatible with CC-BY-SA. By default, an image is copyrighted and the copyright holder has to publish it under a less strict license for it to be usable by us. In the case that you see music video frames or other non-free images on Wikipedia, these are uploaded locally to Wikipedia and have (or should have) detailed fair use rationales which justify its inclusion under U.S. fair use law and our more strict internal rules, the Non-free content criteria. The screenshots you uploaded probably fail our criteria because they are not (as far as I can see) specifically the subject of substantive critical commentary (e.g. "the colour pink in this scene connotes that ...") by professional critics. Likely no shot of either music video satisfies that criterion, so we can't have an image from them.

As such I've nominated the Commons files for deletion. Hope this is clear enough but I'll be watching this page and please do ask any follow-up questions if anything is even slightly unclear—a lot of people on Wikipedia get confused when it comes to copyright, Commons and the NFCC. Thanks! — Bilorv (talk) 19:20, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
