Welcome

[edit]

Hi, HandGrenadePins, and welcome to WikiProject
Zimbabwe
!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles relevant to Zimbabwe. Here are some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve Zimbabwe-related articles, so if people ask for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as the current collaboration, which you are welcome to participate.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign Zimbabwe topics.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

Again, welcome! We hope you enjoy working on this project.

Cuegloss

[edit]

The {{Cuegloss}} template's first parameter is case-sensitive, and the glossary entries begin with upper-case. I.e. {{Cuegloss|pot|pot}} is invalid; it must be {{Cuegloss|Pot|pot}}. The first parameter must match exactly the ===Heading=== of the glossary entry in question (e.g. {{Cuegloss|"D", the|the "D"}}). Also, you can't use the same <ref name="x">...</ref> structure more than once in the same article; subsequent occurrences of the same source must be <ref name="x" /> (note the "/"), with no content and no closing tag, or errors will result. I've already fixed all that at Sinuca Brasileira; just thought you should know. (PS: Your source got the spelling wrong; I fixed that as well.) — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 10:06, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Herald

[edit]

Hey there. I'm not sure what you do about that scenario. There may be something here about it... but otherwise I don't actually know. Sorry. :( Mangwanani (talk) 18:27, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality?

[edit]

Last time I checked there was an English language but no English nationality! How about 'British'? :-) --TraceyR (talk) 11:00, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently, you didn't look very hard! The English, Welsh and Scots are all nations/ethnicities. "British" is the political joining of all three.50.111.55.122 (talk) 22:02, 4 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Date autoformatting change

[edit]

HGP, here's a link to a notice (posted during a survey) that encapsulates the arguments, with further links and capped information.

Article

[edit]

You recently voiced your opinion on deleting article Suicide methods. I agree with you for such reason since it is more like an "assist article" rather than an "information article." To get it deleted, I would suggest more voice from other people or email Jimbo Wales, Wikipedia founder to get it deleted. I have tried to get that article deleted before, however, failed. Good luck. Oh. And. Don't bother notifying the admins. Chances are, they'll tell you that the article should stay. :( Prowikipedians (talk) 14:21, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

POV in Robert Mugabe article

[edit]

Further to comments you raised. Yes, I did remove the NPOV tag, but I did give a reason. The article is balanced and well referenced. A lot of the comments that are contentious are argued over ad nauseam in the discussion page. If you have issue with a specific point then raise it on the talk page.

As you seem to have already discovered I'm not the only one correcting your edits. If you don't like having your edits challenged don't bother with wikipedia. You have to have a good argument to win out against most editors especially on a page as contentious as the Robert Mugabe page! You seem to have a problem with the BBC and Mugabe's marxist credentials I suggest you find contradictory sources to challenge these issues and make edits accordingly. A word of warning: editors will not tolerate unreliable sources. Whilst I'm giving advice I suggest refraining from f****** swearing as it just makes you look silly! simonthebold (talk) 08:23, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that there is a neutrality problem. However, use of the tag requires specific discussion of the problem on the talk page, so please add your comments to Talk:Robert Mugabe#Bias. --Marvin Diode (talk) 15:13, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

dates

[edit]

"Thanks for the date page. Appreciate it. However, I am not sure why it is on this page, and specifically whether this is really an official policy, and what evidence there is that this has been conducted by administration. Sorry for being a drag but I am not really sure about this."

Sorry, I can't recall what I did—linked you to the info page on the removal of date autoformatting? DA is now deprecated, after a long long debate at MOSNUM talk. Style guides are not policy, but going against them requires a case that this is common sense and improves an article. Let me know if you require further information. MDC

[edit]

If you intend to split the article, the two parties must be referred as MDC-Tsvangirai and MDC-Mutambara.mangqina-Mazondo (talk) 04:35, 14 September 2008 (UTC) Africa Festival[reply]

MDC articles

[edit]

Hi. Seeing that you have contributed regularly to the Movement for Democratic Change article, I am notifying you that I have now split it into:

  1. Movement for Democratic Change (pre-2005)
  2. Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai
  3. Movement for Democratic Change – Mutambara
  4. Movement for Democratic Change - as a disambiguation page

I think this better reflects the current political dispensation and avoids confusion from readers new to the topic, as discussed on the talk page. So far, all that has been done is redistributing the existing text between the three articles, copyediting and (some) link-fixing in other articles. I'd appreciate it, if you have time, for you to take a look at the three articles for any mistakes I have made, plus naturally to continue imporving the article. Thanks. Babakathy (talk) 21:08, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know who any of these people are:

  1. Basil Fletcher (professor)
  2. Langham
  3. Llewelyn

thanks. Babakathy (talk) 14:32, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
