Past as Titan Arum

In the summer of 2006 Josh Kopelen met Louis Davis and Justus Ramos, two brothers who were looking to start a band. After a few weeks of practicing with them, Josh introduced them to Dusty, a friend of his who had been trying to start a band with Josh for years. Dusty joined the band on bass guitar and the band was formed with it's first full lineup, going by the name Titan Arum. Dusty was then later removed from the band for a few different reasons. Louis continued singing and filled in the bass parts. Later, when the band decided they wanted a second guitarist, Dusty came back to fill the opening. His brother, Steven, then joined the band to take over bass parts. After a few weeks of playing shows and recording their first e.p., titled "Unscene", Louis left the band to return to Virginia. For a while, everyone decided to call it quits and try to move on to something else.

Starting THIM

Then, in early 2007, the four remaining members decided they weren't ready to quit that easily. After going through a few singer auditions, Wack John, who was a friend of the band already, came by to audition. At that point, it was immediately apparent that he was to be their singer. After writing a few new songs and playing a totally new style, the band felt they should change the name, as they had grown to something more than Titan Arum. It was suggested that the band be called This Hatred is Mutual, the name of Josh and Dusty's former attempt at a band. After some debate and a vote they decided to keep the name.

Present/Future Plans

Now, the band has started playing shows again with new material and new fans. Their first demo, which is still untitled, will be released March 31, 2007. Things are looking good for this band, are they are quickly gaining popularity and growing more and more as a band, and as friends. Keep on the lookout for these guys, as great things are expected.

Genuine Wealth

Bold textA model developed by Canadian economist Mark Anielski for measuring the conditions of well-being that are true to our core values of life. Comprised of two words Genuine (meaning to be true to one's values) and Wealth (which originates from two Old English words weal (well-being) and th (the conditions), hence the true meaning of wealth is “the conditions of well-being,” synonymous with happiness.)

The Genuine Wealth model has been used by communities, corporations and governments to measure the conditions of well-being of a community or organization in accordance to its values.

The Genuine Wealth Assessment is a tool for measuring the overall well-being of an organization or community using happiness and quality of life surveys combined with an inventory of the perceptions and statistical conditions of the five capitals (human, social, natural, built and financial) which comprise an enterprise, organization or community.

As part of the model the Genuine Wealth Balance Sheet is an accounting framework which reveals the physical, qualitative and monetary (full costs or benefits) conditions of the five capitals (human, social, natural, built and financial capital) of an enterprise, organization, community or nation. The GW balance sheet provides a comprehensive well-being profile that shows community or organizational assets (strengths), liabilities (weaknesses) and equity (distribution and fairness).

SPUG Computer Club

Begun in the 1970s as the Springfield PET User Group in Springfield, Illinois, it was originally only for Commodore PET Users, but soon evolved to include C-64 and Amiga users and then MS-DOS users. As Commodore failed and support for those products disappeared, it became a Windows User Group and the name was changed to the SPUG Computer Club. In the early 1980s, there were over 300 members. Membership now is only about 25, but it maintains a web page at <http://www.springnet1.com/spug/>. 74.141.152.63 03:44, 12 March 2007 (UTC)David L. Stevens[reply]

The South Suburban School of Art

The South Suburban School Artists

Who, A Group of Artists hailing mainly from the South Side and South Suburban locations of Chicago, Illinois.

When, While most of the artists are still practicing; the formative period for these artists begins in the late nineteen-eighties and extends until about two-thousand. Most of these artists attended the Governors State University, College of Arts and Sciences, Art Program somewhere between 1990 and 2000.

What is the connection? Similar to many groups historically categorized, this one was not a formal group but more of a loose knit social network. Most, not all attended community colleges such as Joliet Junior College, Prarie State College and South Suburban College in the South and West suburbs of Chicago prior to attending the Art and Photography programs at Governors State University. Many of these artists often exhibited in the same shows and galleries, lived, travelled and spent leisure time together.

A brief list of the major contibutors based on exhibitions, social interaction and continued art production. Artists are listed alphabetically, broken up into categories by medium.

There are 5 boys in the group, there's "THE BRAINS" Eric Peake, "THE BRAWN" Max Sharrad, "THE ALMOST NAKED GUY" Ben Sofo, "THE CRAZY" Louis Sharrad and Bens friend Damo. Most of the stuff they film is at the park near Bens house. There are alot of ideas going on but little is achieved as of today with only 15+ films shot all less than 30 seconds. The boys wish to eventually make it all into a movie and show it for free for there local neighbourhoood. There is only one rule for this crew "if you are injured, please dont sue".

CADIS internet service provider - SKOPJE, Cable Television, CTV

Air Power Institute

The Air Power Institute, stationed at Fernando Air Base, Lipa City, Batangas, Philippines, is the airpower doctrine center of the Philippine Air Force. As a PAF-wide Service Support Unit (PAFWSSU), the Institute is under the direct command and control of the Commanding General, PAF and under the functional supervision of the Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Plans, A-5.

Mission and Functions:

API is mandated “to develop doctrines and advance airpower for the Philippine Air Force”. Anent to this, it is tasked to perform the following functions:

• Formulate PAF air power doctrines; • Revise and update doctrine manuals, and existing air power doctrines; • Validate air power doctrines in coordination with concerned units; • Conduct activities for the advancement of Air Power • Publish doctrine manuals, Air Power Journal, and occasional papers; • Maintain links with other research institutions; • Operate and maintain the Air Power Knowledge Center; and • Manage the CG, PAF Research Fellow Program.

History

Doctrines have been the byword in the Armed Forces of the Philippines ever since the AFP Modernization Program was enacted into law in 1995. It was part and parcel of the Program's five interlocking components, namely: Force Restructuring and Organizational Development; Capability, Materiel and Technology Development; Bases/Support System Development; Human Resource Development; and Doctrines Development. The latter speaks of formulating realistic and integrated approaches for the generation, evaluation, consolidation and formalization of doctrines. It also sets the tasks to conduct periodic review of promulgated doctrines through the conduct of field application, testing and exercises. It also lays down the guidelines on how these doctrines shall be disseminated within the military hierarchy.

Realizing the tremendous role that doctrines play in the overall conduct of military operations and, eventually, in winning battles, the Commander-in-Chief herself, Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, had been vocal in her advocacy for the development of “modernized doctrines” for the AFP – experience-based and Filipino in character. In fact, she has set the initial direction, tone and tempo for doctrines development efforts when she delivered her remarks during the 66th AFP Anniversary on 21 December 2001. Thus, the Air Power Institute was established on 16 January 2002 by virtue of General Order Number 3, Headquarters, PAF dated 08 January 2002. It was initially placed under the command and control of the Commander, Air Education and Training Command along with the other PAF training institutions.

Seeing the crucial role that doctrines play in the conduct of military operations and the need to promote airpower advocacy, Lieutenant General Jose L. Reyes AFP, the Commanding General, PAF (07 July 2004 to 02 Feb 2007) placed the Institute under his direct command and control on 15 May 2005 by virtue of General Order Number --, HPAF dated ----. The Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Plans, A-5 was then given the task to take functional supervision over the said Institute.

The GOLD OUTLINE of both circles, an important metal which cannot be destroyed by rust and possess eternal luster represents the Philippine Air Force’s quest for perfection and moderation, from which Air Power emanates.

Activities

PAF DOCTRINE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS. To formulate doctrines that will serve as guide for the conduct of various air force operations, the Institute has programmed several tactical and organizational manuals for development and promulgation. These doctrine proposals are in its various stages of development and shall be ready for implementation on the First Quarter of CY-2007.

AIRPOWER DOCTRINE FORUM. The Air Power Institute sees the importance of immersing into the grassroots of PAF operations and functions. Consultations with the personnel of the PAF operating units could be an effective venue to gather relevant and significant ideas, views, and experiences which could enhance doctrine development efforts and promote airpower advocacy. In CY 2006, the Institute spearheaded the conduct of a series of round table discussions on the topics: PAF Doctrines Development Roadmap and PAF Manual Numerical Designation.

AIRPOWER AND DOCTRINE MODULE. The Airpower and Doctrine Module is being conducted to students taking up Professional Military Education (PME), officership training and Basic Military Training (BMT).
