Question from Ibrahimkaleemwikiedits (18:12, 22 January 2023)
Hello! Can I include links for common nouns, such as apple, fruit, etc..? --Ibrahimkaleemwikiedits (talk) 18:12, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- Ibrahimkaleemwikiedits, this is not recommended as wikilinks are meant for terms a reader may be unfamiliar with. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 21:51, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Question from TICommunications (23:11, 23 January 2023)
Hey there! I entered a correction for this page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_semiconductor_fabrication_plants. I clicked publish. It doesn't show my post on the talk page of that article. Do I need to repost my message? --TICommunications (talk) 23:11, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- TICommunications, I do not see any edit in the page's edit history. It did not properly save or something. You will have to repost. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 00:57, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

Question from Australopithechic (16:00, 27 January 2023)
Hi there, I am attempting to edit the page for Zeresanay Alemseged. I am new, obviously, so I thought I would start with small changes that he himself had asked for, which is to remove his birthdate for privacy. I also removed the word "Ethiopian" as it is not a qualifier with meaning for his profession. I fear I have now been flagged as a "vandal" by another user from the German site. Could you please let me know what I should do before I attempt adding the planned updates to the article? Thank you so much, -A --Australopithechic (talk) 16:00, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Australopithechic, since you personally know Zeresanay Alemseged, you should refrain from editing the article directly per WP:COI. The English Wikipedia policy WP:OWN explains that nobody owns the contents of an article, even the subject. A similar policy is likely in place on the German Wikipedia.
- Additionally, different language Wikipedias are completely separate projects, and rules from one project do not necessarily apply to another. Please ask for more specific guidance on the German Wikipedia, de:WP:Teestube. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 20:29, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you, Sungodtemple. I had briefed through the user guidelines, and did see that it is best to not edit if you are the subject or know him/her.
- Because I would be editing mostly to fix some outdated items (and I took note that citations are missing), rather than adding wholly new content, I thought this might be appropriate under best practices (wouldn't users want accurate and cited information?). Is it best, then, to hand this off to someone without a relationship for the areas that need updates? I do appreciate the philosophy behind that ideal but if the same changes were to be made, I don't understand the added complexity since my edits would be examined by other Wiki users just the same to be sure to remove bias and such. I definitely am not trying to twist the rules; I honestly just thought fixing incorrect statements and adding citations would be tolerated as well as appreciated.
- That said, I also did read that personal information can be removed for privacy reasons if it is not well-publicized data, and that was the motive for the removal of the birthdate. Australopithechic (talk) 14:31, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Question from Editorevmmm (21:56, 15 February 2023)
How to be an Editor .? --Editorevmmm (talk) 21:56, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- Editorevmmm, you are already a Wikipedia editor. If you want some ideas on where to start editing, see WP:TASKCENTER. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 22:10, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
Prod + deletion + recreation = contested prod
Since the article was previously proposed for deletion and deleted, the recreation of the article is de facto contesting of the PROD. Accordingly, the article is ineligible for proposed deletion, but it can be nominated through the WP:Articles for deletion process. Please advise if you need assistance with that. —C.Fred (talk) 21:32, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
Angela Bassett did the thing
Hi, and thanks for your notability tag on Angela Bassett did the thing. I disagree with it being a neologism and I only called the article what it's called because I couldn't think of a suitable article title, and [ABdtt] was the most notable quote from DeBose's performance. If you're able to help then that would be appreciated and I will try to find some more secondary sources :) XxLuckyCxX (talk) 22:30, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- XxLuckyCxX, I don't really understand how the one performance could be that notable. And it should be sustained. Maybe there is something absolutely inspiring about this piece I don't understand. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 22:34, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Sungodtemple I will agree that there's potentially an argument for recentism although there are definitely a wide number of secondary sources available that prove it is notable, it's just a case of finding them and citing them in the article XxLuckyCxX (talk) 22:47, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
- OK. Well I don't want to bother with that. Not feeling it today. So, respectfully, go away.
- Also you don't have to ping me on my own talk. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 22:49, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

Question from Prunklethefox (07:59, 2 March 2023)
Hello mentor! I'm a noob and have just started making small edits to articles. However, I'm attempting to create a brand new article and I'm feeling a little wobbly. The new article is a documentary film and the film is on a very controversial topic. I don't have strong feelings on the matter, but all the reviews/citations are extremely polarized and I'm not sure what is acceptable to include. I've included citations to the film's page, and IMDB. Do you have any other generally neutral suggestions? --Prunklethefox (talk) 07:59, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
- Prunklethefox, IMDb is not a reliable source (WP:IMDB). Please add any reviews you find to help show WP:NFILM or WP:N. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 13:46, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
Re: Abɛ (Fabric) moved to draftspace
Hi,
Thanks for the heads up and consideration in moving the article to draft space.
It is actually a part of a series of articles my community and I (Wikimedians of Twi Language) are working on to curate certain well known fabric designs with African heritage. We appreciate you raising the red flags so we can work at them.
For the name of the article we think it would be more suitable to go by the Nigerian given name - Akpirikpa azu, as it is well known in the internet sphere.
Thanks again. Naa2Darkoa (talk) 10:36, 2 March 2023 (UTC)
AfC tag
Hi, could you please remove the AfC template from your user page, as it's causing the page to appear in as a pending draft in the AfC pool. Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:08, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
Question from Bookpile on Madison Grant (20:24, 14 March 2023)
Hi. How do I insert a block quote in an existing article and then view it before publishing it? --Bookpile (talk) 20:24, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Bookpile, from your contributions page I see you use the visual editor. You should be able to see the result of any template immediately upon selecting insert->template->template name. In source you can press 'show preview' for a preview. Remember, the changes are only published when you press 'publish changes'. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 15:12, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. --Bookpile Bookpile (talk) 16:08, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
Question from Milikkkk on 2023 Chicago mayoral election (06:40, 16 March 2023)
I want to put chakena perry former MWRD commissioner & Maggie o’keefe current 40th ward committeewoman on the endorsement list --Milikkkk (talk) 06:40, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- Milikkkk by inserting your text, you broke a template. Also, the endorsement does not follow the format of the other ones listed, so it was reverted. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 14:44, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
Draft:Matthew Brown Companies
Draft:Matthew Brown Companies appears to be a resubmission of the declined Draft:The Matthew Brown Companies, both created by the same user. Any thoughts of how best to handle this? Thanks. BilCat (talk) 00:57, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- BilCat just leave it there. It's not like this hurts anyone. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 01:00, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
sapo.pt redirected to sapo_(company), your proposed deletion
I spend much time in Portugal and would confirm that sapo.pt is a well-known internet site and company there. The page was of use to me!
I'm not in a position to provide you with RSs for the acronyms you ask it for, as I don't even know what they mean. There may be valid alternatives to what you cannot find.
