"Satellite" is a song by English singer Harry Styles from his third studio album Harry's House, released as the fourth single from the album alongside a music video on 3 May 2023.[4]

Music video

The music video, directed by Aube Perrie, features a vacuum cleaner called "Stomper" that works at Styles' concert. The video starts with Stomper watching a film narrated from Brian Cox about the loneliness of the Mars rover Curiosity. After cleaning around backstage, Stomper sneaks onto the stage while Styles is singing and gets kicked out of the show. Stomper then travels through numerous places while thinking about Curiosity. The video ends with Stomper and Styles skywatching on a field together - as Stomper shuts down, they are revealed to be in front of NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building.[5]

The music video received comparisons to the Pixar movie WALL-E.[6][7]

Critical reception

Olivia Horn from Pitchfork compared the song to Ariana Grande's "NASA" and noted that "the back half of the song builds momentum and nearly careens out of control."[8] Michael Cragg of The Guardian wrote that the song "strut around shimmying melodies suddenly punctuated by stadium-ready crescendos".[9] Rhian Daly of NME noted the song's scientific-fiction influence and said that the song makes "it feel as if you're floating through the milky way". Daly called the song "musically one of the most interesting songs Styles has made so far".[10]
