ArbCom elections are now open![edit]
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Survey Invite[edit]
I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take 5 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.
I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.
Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 19:38, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
I'll Never Fall in Love Again[edit]
The bulk of your edit is repeating information that is mentioned in the first paragraph of the Chart hits section. My work includes citations, whereas yours does not, so any other editor is going to side with me. You're asserting that Gentry sold 500,000. Are we supposed to just take your word for it? And no the US is not the only market, but it is the biggest of the ones in question. That's not to say that Gentry's success is not worth mentioning. My placement of the facts of her success comes before Warwick's in the main body of the article, so it's not just some little footnote. I apologize if it has offended you. Since my last message I was recalling that a single had to reach one million in sales in the US to receive a gold record certification by the RIAA. While Warwick's recording of this song did not reach that high, her single I Say a Little Prayer did after only peaking a number two the previous year. If a number two hit can reach one million in sales, then a number six hit like this one is going to come much closer to that one million than Gentry's half million that you're claiming. If you then add in sales from Canada, where Warwick's version of this song peaked at number three, then it probably does surpass one million in sales. Danaphile (talk) 05:44, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
