Controversy

On March 2016, Shilpa Shinde who was playing the character of Angoori since the started of the show, made several alligators on producers Benaifer Kohli, Sanjay Kohli, co-actresses Saumya Tandon, and Shubhangi Atre. According to the Shinde, programming head of &TV, Vikas Gupta is also the reason for results of the controversy of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai!

Shinde stated that she was forced to leave the show and makers didn't paid her salary for her work in show. Benaifer Kohli told that on September 2014, Shinde salary has raised in two times on the demand of Shinde. The matter was taken to Cine and TV Artists' Association (CINTAA). Production company Edit II dispatch a legal document to Shinde. Shinde said that the channel demanded her to sign an new contract and the production company build her effort like a "puppet". Shinde said that makers was discriminating her and her co-actress Sumya Tandon when it comes to dresses and fashion.

After one year on March 2017, Shinde files FIR against producer of the show Sanjay Kohli for sexual harassment.

About the harrasment case, Shinde told that:

Once Sanjay [Kohli] told me that for the promotion of show, we will have to go out and that we will have a nice time. Also, in the make-up room, he came close to me and [taking photo while laying] and apna haath rakha mujhe…I could feel that touch was not right.

According to FIR filed at Walvi Naigaon police station:

Shilpa has alleged that Sanjay often tried to take advantage of her and called her hot and sexy. She said that he even touched her inappropriately once to which she objected with a firm no. Sanjay threatened her that he will throw her out of the show if she spoke to anyone about this. Next day, he again came to her make-up room and told her to get into a physical relationship with him if she wanted to stay on the show. She alleged that her make-up man saw this happening, after which he was fired.

About the allegations of Binaifer Kholi that Shinde throws tantrums and came late on set, Shinde told that:

I shared this (Sanjay’s alleged advances towards her) with Soumya (Tandon) like you would share with a co-worker, but she went and told about it to Binaifer. From there, everything got worse for me. I did speak to Binaifer about it and she was naturally very angry, but before I could talk to the channel about it, Binaifer had got everyone against me. She tried to cover up for her husband’s actions. So, rumours were spread that I don’t come on time and throw tantrums.

After that, Binaifer Kholi, said:

These are obviously false allegations. All I can say is that the matter is subjudice. I have faith in the legal system. I don’t want to give her (Shilpa) unnecessary attention.

Shinde also told to co-actress Saumya Tandon that Sanjay Kohli was harassing her. Saumya Tandon replied Shinde statement by saying:

I didn’t get any such vibes from my producer [Sanjay Kohli] and I never noticed him having such kind of intention for any other female on our sets. In fact, he doesn’t really come on the sets and he never goes to any actor’s room or vanity at all, so I didn’t experience any such thing. It is so sad that she used my name. Saying that she confided in me is not true at all. I shared a very professional relationship with her...

Binaifer Kohli fined 12 crore (Indian currency) to Shilpa Shinde for breaking the contract of the show. She said that Shinde is taking another show while working in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai! which breaks the contract. Shinde said that there was not clause that time when she sign the contract and Binaifer Kholi edited the contract.

Shilpa Shinde played the role of 'Angoori' for approximately one year. In one month after Shilpa depature, Shubhangi Atre was selected to play the character of 'Angoori'. Shinde made an allegation that Shubhangi Atre is copying her. About the allegation, Shubhangi Atre clarified it by saying that she was coping Angoori's character not Shinde's character.

On February 2018, Shinde took back her FIR of her harassment against Sanjay Kholi by saying:

After that (the case), a lot of people called me, the producers and even artists, although the surprising part is that when I was in trouble no one took an initiative to solve this problem but this time they came to me and said to finish things up.
