((Removed link)) <= The example from the Pygmy village is excellent and probably should be incorporated into the article somehow. If it doesn't get VfD'd. -- Antaeus Feldspar 16:10, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • The site earlier referenced by Antaeus Feldspar is now parked with porn ads on it, I've removed the link to save anyone else from the embarrassment. Link left as a comment in case it comes back Kiore (talk) 21:07, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus of VfD on 8 March 2005 to keep. Discussion at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Polite fiction. BLANKFAZE | (что??) 00:51, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Stork myth... should it be here?

[edit]

In some places there is the popular myth that children are brought by the stork. Is this an example of a polite fiction? If so, then maybe it should be mentioned in the article as a well-known example. SpectrumDT (talk) 11:43, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The above article should be merged into this one, as it seems to be another name for the same concept. Robofish (talk) 21:12, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Same topic, but different content. Polite_lie should ideally be cleaned up first, though; it cites no sources, making it useless on the matter of WP:V meteor_sandwich_yum (talk) 03:12, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

this seems un-encyclopedic. and also a stub!
