Tyrone Munro, is an Australian professional Rugby league player who plays as a winger for NRL club South Sydney Rabbitohs.[1]

Early Life and Family

Munro was born in Moree, New South Wales on the 26th of December, 2004 and grew up in the Inner Sydney suburb of Glebe, New South Wales. He is the cousin of Melbourne Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr.[1] Munro attended Alexandria Park Community School for his high school education and captained the NSW Combined High Schools Rugby League team while attending Endeavour Sports High School.

Playing Career

Early Career

While playing for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the Harold Matthews Cup, Munro won the Player of the Year award in 2021 and was also a proficient player for the Rabbitohs in the Jersey Flegg Cup. At the NSW Cup level, Tyrone Munro achieved two try assists, four line-breaks, 156 average run metres and 10 tackle breaks in his only 3 games. On the 28th of June, 2023, Tyrone Munro signed a a 3 year contact extension until the end of the 2025 NRL season.[2]

NRL Career

Tyrone Munro has made an overall of 3 appearances in the 2023 NRL season for the South Sydney Rabbitohs and has scored 3 tries in his 3 games.

Munro made his NRL debut against the New Zealand Warriors on the 30th of June in Round 18 of the 2023 NRL season. This match was held at Go Media Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand and he was in the starting lineup for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. In this game, he scored a try in the 66th minute, achieved a line-break in the 38th minute and the 76th minute, and made an errors in the 57th minute and the 73rd minute. The final score for this game was 28-6, Rabbitohs way.[3]

In his second game against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Accor Stadium (Sydney) in Round 19 of the 2023 NRL season on the 8th of July, Tyrone Munro was selected in the Rabbitohs starting lineup. In this game, he scored tries in the 18th and 76th minute; ran a line-break in the 18th, 73rd and the 77th minute, and made an errors in the 32nd minute. The result for this game was the Bulldogs winning, 32-36.[4]

In Tyrone Munro's 3rd and last game for the Rabbitohs in the 2023 NRL season, he was versing the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at Optus Stadium, Perth. This was in Round 23 on the 5th of August. He was in the starting lineup. In this game he made errors in the 3rd,13th, 39th, 72nd and the 77th minute. The final score for this match was 16-26, Sharks way.[5]

Munro was selected in a 4th game against the St. George Illawarra Dragons, but he was selected as the 18th man and he didn't get a chance to play.
