Legoland Sichuan, is located in Shigao, Tianfu New Area, Sichuan. The resort started construction on June 8, 2020, and is planned to open at the end of 2023.[1]. This is the first Legoland in China, and is the 9th Legoland in the world. This resort project is led by Merlin Entertainment from UK. The resort area is 365 acres, with building area of 159,000 square metre.[2]. This resort costs 30 0000 0000 Yuan.[3].
Resort Details
Legoland Sichuan Resort includes 3 parts: Legoland, Waterpark, Shopping district. The Legoland Park includes: Lego Factory, Lego World, Pirate Shore, Mini World, Lego Castle, Dinosaur island, Lego City, Lego Friends, Lego Ninja, Splash Pad, in total 10 themed area.[2]
History
- On Feb 6 2018, Zhongjuntianxin (Beijing) Company and Chengdu Global Century Expo&Tourism Company signed project agreement with Merlin Entertainment, UK.
- On Sep 16 2019, Legoland Sichuan Project ceremony was held in the Lego Headquarter - Billund, Denmark.
- On Sep 27, 2020, Legoland Sichuan Resort had news release in Meishan, Sichuan.
- On Sep 27, 2020, Merlin Entertainments also announced that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Global Zhongjun Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd (“Global Zhongjun”) to build and operate a LEGOLAND Resort in Sichuan.[4]
- On June 8, 2020, Legoland Sichuan Resort started construction.[5]
- On Oct 22, 2021, General Manager of Southwest China, Merlin Entertainments, said the resort will include a Legoland Theme Park, a Legoland Water Park and two Legoland Themed Hotels with 500 rooms.[6]
