Karen Lang is an American politician and the mayor of West Valley City, Utah.[1]

Career

West Valley City Council

Lang was a West Valley City Council member for 10 years prior to the start of her mayoral term.[1]

West Valley City Mayor

Lang was elected as mayor in November 2021 with 58.54% of the vote. Her only opponent was Steve Buhler who received 41.4% of the vote.[2] Lang was sworn in as West Valley City Mayor on January 4, 2022.[3]

On August 1 2023, she along with other mayors in Salt Lake County announced plans to shelter unhoused people during the winter season.[4]

Personal life

Lang has been a resident of West Valley City for 27 years.[1] Lang has a husband named Brian. They own and operate the Oakbridge Greenhouse.[1]
