VJ Sunny[1] (born 17 August 1989) is an Telugu actor and television personality who works in Telugu cinema. He gained popularity from Zee Telugu's TV serial Kalyana Vaibhogam[2] and Bigg Boss (Telugu season 5).[3]

Early and personal life

VJ Sunny was born on 17 August 1989 in Khammam to Venkateshwarulu and Kalavathi. He has one sibling name Rajitha Devi. Sunny did his schooling at Nirmala High School in Khammam and later, obtained his B.Com degree in Osmania college, Hyderabad.

Career

Taking his mother as an inspiration, From childhood he was inclined towards acting and wanted to act in films, later he joined a theatre group in Hyderabad and acted in various theatre plays. His performance in the theatre play Allaudin was well appreciated by the audience.

He started his career as a video jockey with the TV show Just For Men on Maa Music and later, he worked as a lifestyle journalist and interviewed many renowned celebrities. [4]

Television

In 2017, he debuted as a TV actor as the male lead for Zee Telugu's serial Kalyana Vaibhogam[5] in the role of a businessman character Jaya Surya opposite Meghana Lokesh.

In 2021, VJ Sunny[6] emerged as the title winner of Star Maa's reality TV show Bigg Boss (Telugu season 5). Sunny won[7] the title along with ₹50 lakh in prize money, a bike, and a plot worth ₹25 lakh.
