Hung Vanngo (born 1985) is a Vietnamese Canadian makeup artist based in New York, United States, who has received InStyle Awards's Makeup Artist of the Year[1] and has worked with Hollywood’s celebrities including Jennifer Aniston, Selena Gomez, Cindy Crawford, Julianne Moore, Renee Zellweger, Jennifer Lawrence.[2]
Early life
Vanngo was born Vietnam. He relocated from Vietnam at age six, and after his departure from Vietnam, he resided in a refugee camp in Thailand for a period of three years. Upon leaving the camp, Vanngo and his family immigrated to Canada, settling in Calgary where he pursued his education.
Early career
Hung's career path started when he landed his first job as a hairdresser. While at the salon, he also began practicing makeup application on clients, which he later remarked as an experience that allowed him to hone his skills and later pursue a career in the makeup industry.[3]
He moved to New York city in 2006 to build his career and gradually started working with celebrities and larger agencies. In 2015 he was highlighted by New York Magazine as "the next big celebrity makeup artist" [4]
