Note on why this article exists
[edit]This section is pinned and will not be automatically archived. |
This page is a split from Mac (computer), so that page could be cleaned out of old cruft that was leading to a big imbalance between old Macs and more recent history.
This article lacks sourcing; but that's how it was. It contains great detail, so please try to cite rather than delete; it would be a shame to lose correct historical content when sourcing may exist, even if hard to find. DFlhb (talk) 21:53, 4 October 2022 (UTC)
Name of article
[edit](context: I posted this when it was still a draft)
I see two good names for the article.
First, there's the current one. History of the Macintosh, which is fine IMO.
Proposal:
I'd actually prefer naming this article Macintosh after the current move request is closed. Mac would be about the general lineup (including brief WP:SUMMARY of its early history), and Macintosh would be specifically about the 1984-1999 product line.
The advantage of calling it Macintosh rather than History of the Macintosh is that others could add non-strictly-history related things; for example having a list of all Macintoshes in one place (we could split off parts of Timeline of Apple Inc. products here, and then WP:SUMMARYze it in that article; or we could talk about the Macintosh brand and marketing, or its reception, or cultural impact, etc. Having this page at Macintosh seems optimal. - I agree with calling it Macintosh. Aditoo17 [💬|✒️] 14:53, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
