Canal bombed during WWII?

I have heard that the canal was bombed during WWII, a strategic effort to stop Hitler from moving supplies. If this is true, it would be an interesting point of history to add to the article. Pete unseth (talk) 16:52, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
