Confusion about gallons[edit]

Just a note, the units given in the Daily Mail article aren't entirely clear:

On a flight from LAX airport in LA to JFK in New York - a distance of 2,475 miles (3,983 km) - the D8 would save 2,095 gallons (9,524 litres) of fuel compared to the most efficient commercial aircraft available today.

The 2,095 gallons = 9,524 litres calculation only works out if it's in imperial gallons (which might make sense given the UK-based news site). However, with the subject being US-based, it's also possible that Daily Mail (being as reliable as they are) interpreted quoted US gallon figures as imperial gallons and then messed up the conversion. -- intgr [talk] 09:30, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
