Alaouite restoration/modification?

[edit]

By the looks of the gate (based on the tile decoration and on the gate's simple structure by comparison with more complex medieval gates), I would strongly suspect the gate was restored or modified in the more recent Alaouite era, but I have seen no mention of it in any sources. An open question for other editors in the future, then: any suggestions on where to find more information on this particular gate's history?
