Merge or redirect suggestion

I don't see much point in a separate article named thus talking about Athenian democracy when demokratia would better serve as a redirect, either to democracy, to a section of it, to direct democracy, or to Athenian democracy. The quoted author, Loren J. Samons II, is using the Greek form of the word in that article to make a distinction, but that in itself does not hold as a base for an encyclopedic article. It appears to me that such an article would just be about that term in that work (or by Samons in general, if he used it repeatedly, or even a group of scholars, if they used it thus consistently). I can't say whether my proposal to merge this into the existing democracy articles may provide them any additions or enhancements, but that at least it could become a redirect to one of them. Keep Seperate

The term has taken on a life of its own in part because of this article. The Demokratia movement is growing and includes calls for direct democracy as well as calls for educational requirement for voters. Whatever it has become, it is no longer identical to any other word and is earning its own place. I do not recommend changes to the existing article until additional meaning becomes mainstream. This word is becoming part of a presidential candidates vocabulary. Possibly more than one. Scottprovost (talk) 02:52, 26 October 2019 (UTC)
