2016 status

[edit]

Champion Mill is no longer a state park, having be transferred to Chase county in 2013. Other that the transfer press release articles, there is no online information about its life as a county park. I intend to recast the article to feature the historic district, and mention its past as a SHP and the transfer to the county. At that time, I plan to rename the article to Champion Mill - unless there are any dissenting opinions? Generic1139 (talk) 16:22, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

No objection at all to the renaming. Just so you know, the principal newspaper of Chase County is the Imperial Republican. I tried an archive search for ("champion mill"), and it looked like some of the results might be useful.
The newspaper's name, incidentally, comes from its location in Imperial, Nebraska; to the best of my knowledge, it has never advocated a monarchy. The city's name has also created a certain amount of confusion when used to specify a member of the state legislature: out-of-state readers of state-politics stories in the local media, encountering references to "Imperial Senator Mark Christensen", may find themselves wondering just what kind of government Nebraska has, and whether there're any plans to conquer Kansas. — Ammodramus (talk) 16:49, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I heartily support the proposed changes. -McGhiever (talk)
