Why "River of the dead"? That would be "rio dos mortos" (male dead) or "rio das mortas" (female dead). To me, Rio das mortes means "river of the DEATHS". "Of the dead (man) = do morto, pl. dos mortos; the dead (woman) = da morta, pl. das mortas; of the death = da morte, pl. das mortes. 93.66.2.91 (talk) 23:25, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
