Question, how is FFELP a compliment to Direct Lending, when Direct Lending was established after FFELP?

Re-Write on 28 April 2009

[edit]

Dear Fellow Editor(s): I've tried to remove the bias from this article and to break it into sections. I've linked out to the DL (Direct Loan program) because it is the other major federal student loan program. I have removed what seemed to be obviously pro-ASLP statements from the article. My inclusion of Obama and Brun's statements on the future of FFEL are meant to give weight to both sides of the argument. I've removed the information about Doug Holtz-Eakin because it seemes too biased to mention him and the McCain campaign. I'm aware that my re-write might be biased in the other direction, but I have made a good faith effort to keep the article neutral. I welcome all comments and suggestions, both here and on my talk page. Thanks, Auranor (talk) 09:54, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
