I do not agree with the transscription as "pysa". (I see the same transcription on coin catalogue http://colnect.com/en/coins/list/country/2578-Zanzibar but they obviously do not read Arabic)

1. The Indian name was paisa پیسہ‎. Written defectively (=without the short a before I) pis-h where the feminine ending "ah" usually is transcribed "a" = paisa.

2. For Arabs, who do not have "p" the transcription was and is "b" = بيسة "baisa" - cf. Omani Rial until today.

3. I see no reason why this lemma should be "pysa" and not either Zanzibari "paisa" or "baisa". --Kipala (talk) 19:17, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
