German wikipedia (DE.wiki) has much more to say, de:Russell Owen, relying mainly on Brennan & Clarage Who's Who of PP. That book is routinely one source in our biographies of Pulitzer Prize winners and I have cited it here for vital data that I imported from DE.wiki.

continued incorporation of material from DE.wiki --whose second print source is Eugene Rodgers, Beyond the barrier: The Story of Byrd’s first Expedition to Antarctica (Naval Institute Press, 1990)-- and from our articles on the relevant expeditions. Hidden comments indicate the sources.
