Neoliberal or free-market?

I wonder which the correct term to use in regard to the general economic policies and reforms of the military regime. The word neoliberal is deeply rooted in the public discourse but can be considered peyorative. But isn't what is understood as "neoliberalism" better suited than "free-market"? Free market has occured before in Chile's history but not as an extensive ideology as it happened in the 1980s. −Chiton (talk) 23:47, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
