Murder

[edit]

Tony Lovato was arrested for murder. It's not hit the press yet, but if you go to this site: http://app4.lasd.org/iic/ajis_search.cfm and enter his name, you can see his arrest record.

Tony Lovato has not and will not be charged with murder and has been set free. It was determined that there was not enough evidence to prove that he did not act out of self defense.

band members

[edit]

When did Steve and Matt Lovato join and leave Mest? From what I read here, Matt joined in 1995 but when did he leave?

Steve left after the dispute over musical interests following their self produced album. Matt however never left the band except for opting to spend time with his new familly during their last tour, a stand in from goldfingure took his place for those concerts that he chose not to preform.

Name meaning

[edit]

Strange, mest is also Dutch for manure. Any connection?

Funny you should say that. I was just about to point out that mest is Russian for "revenge".

MEST is a nickname or short for a cheap beer, Milwaukee's Best. Back when the members were in high school and forming the band, this was their beer of choice (most likely because you could get a thirty-pack for less than ten dollars) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sam8983 (talkcontribs) 02:49, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Life Partners

[edit]

Does anyone have any sources for the claim that Jeremiah Rangel and Nick Gigler are life partners? I have never heard this said before. inanechild

No idea about life partners...I haven't heard such a thing. To be honest, I don't think it matters....their music is good. --r00ted 00:00, Apr 20, 2005 (UTC)
No they aren't life partners! Where did you hear that rumor? Haha...and the name Mest came from the beer they used to drink together called "Milwaukee's Best" Take the M and the Est. You get Mest.

Break-up

[edit]

Mest did not announce a "breakup", they merely stated they would no longer for touring. Though, who knows, it could lead to a break up? But that would be jumping to conclusions...

Did you read the statement? The band is breaking up, their calling their current tour a "farewell tour".
The fans worldwide are optomistic, im an irish fan and I know that no matter what I will support them.

Gay??

[edit]

A few days ago did I not read on here that the lead singer was gay? I'm pretty sure I did, and now its not here so either it proves I am truly insane, or I was dreaming...???I don't know! Please someone tell me I was not seeing things!!!

"weve stopped making music" words STRAIGHT from tonys mouth
OK. let me clear this up for you guys. Tony has a girlfriend, he is no way gay. Neither are any of the other band members. Matt is said to be bi but he has Tracey. Nick has a girlfriend and I know ex-girlfriends of Jeremiah whom are girls.

Confusing

[edit]

This article sucks . It's to...confusing. If that's a way to describe it. --Scotteh 16:17, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article Standards

[edit]

The majority of this article is poorly written and too de-linearised. Ideally, this should be re-written with better sources/ better organisation.

-And maybe better proof of what whatever they have been hearing? They could mention where they've heard it from.

Fatal stabbing

[edit]

Shouldn't that be included on the Tony Lovato page? DavidJJJ 08:49, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would agree to that. It (the dispute) was in no way related to the band at all, other than the stabbing was by the vocalist of the band.
Looks like someone has removed it without explanation, fine by me as I concur it is not directly relevant to the band. Freikorp (talk)

Before Mest

[edit]

Something else I heard, vaguely (i.e.: read between the lines, hush hush hint hint kinda stuff.....) read something on their old forums, something about a white supremacy musical group(I'm guessing a punk/rock outfit, since that's Tony's roots?) that tony lovato was a member of in his early years. Anyone have more information? It seems to be extremely hush hush, I don't think they even made a record, was probably just a group of friends in middle school, got together, etc and decided to make some music...since this page has the history of mest, I'm sure, this would "fit in" somewhere.

supportive parents

[edit]

Another note, I don't hear of many bands/groups that have support of their parents. Well....Mest is one of them!  :) It's really nice, back on their old forums, she had her address (A Post Office Box, of course.....) where you could mail cash, I think at the time, it was - and Mestmom would mail you their Mo Money, Mo 40'z album. As far as I know, that's the only distribution method of the album....haven't found it in any store.

You can now find it again at www.MESTMERCH.com!!!

Back together

[edit]

I made an edit to the article saying they were back together, but it has been deleted because of lack of proof or something?

I hope this is enough? Thepoisonx (talk) 10:32, 28 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sources are always needer for major statements like this. As per wikipedia's guidelines social networking sites such as twitter and myspace and not reliable sources for wikipedia references however that first website looks like it meets WP:RS so you can add the information to the article with that one.
