[edit]

the gist of the story of naaman is the deliverance of syria and the healing laid upon him by the prophet elisha. these two events were later repeated by jesus during the sermon in nazareth to only remind his israelite people to be more humble and to remember in those days there were many lepers in israel in the time of elisha and only naaman, the syrian, was cleansed and most importantly again to remind these selfish brothers syria like israel will gain deliverance in times of trouble and he uses naaman, a syrian oncemore naturally toneutralize their haughtiness in reminding them that israel whose former name was jacob is really of syrian blood . and they should go and read over and over the verse given to them in deutronomy , a syrian ready to perish was my father.
