Skew bridge?
[edit]Is the bridge in the photograph really a skew bridge? It doesn't look skewed when viewed from that particular angle, but then that could be a problem with the perspective - it's possible to photograph a skew arch from and angle that makes it look unskewed. The double bend in the road is a bit of a clue that the bridge might actually cross it it right angles though. MegaPedant (talk) 05:31, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- Just to confirm, having taken a virtual walk under the bridge courtesy of Google Street-view, it is indeed a right handed full-centred helicoidal skew arch bridge with a five-ringed barrel in red brick with rubbed red brick quoins. I'll add a Wikilink. —MegaPedant 02:00, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Cancelling construction
[edit]Don't you need an Act of Parliament to cancel contruction of an Authorised Railway?
This happened with the Settle and Carlisle Railway. Tabletop (talk) 09:39, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
