UAC roots go back to 1978

[edit]

I recall doing my first unemployment hearings with the Unemployment Action Center in 1978 when I was a first year student at NYU School of Law. At the time, the UAC was a project of the National Lawyers Guild. I recall that it started with the Brooklyn Law School chapter of the NLG, and our chapter at NYU was the next to participate. I don't know how long UAC had been operating at Brooklyn before it came to NYU. It was great for me to feel that I could actually help someone in need, and gain experience as an advocate. I still enjoy doing unemployment hearings. r3 17:03, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
