Malasar is a large village located in Bikaner Tehsil of Bikaner District of Rajasthan state, India.[3][4]

It is located 340 kilometres (211 mi) from Jaipur,[5] 278 kilometres (173 mi) from Jodhpur,[6] and 401 kilometres (249 mi) from New Dehli.[7]

The village is administrated by a sarpanch (head of the village) who is elected every five years. In 2011 the population of the village was 3,500, with 450 households.[8]

Geography

The total geographic area of Malasar in 2011 was 4319 hectares. The village lies in the Lunkaransar assembly constituency and the Bikaner parliamentary constituency. The location (village) code of Malasar is 069063.[1]

Demographics

The 2011 Census of India recorded the population of Malasar as 3500, of which 1798 were male and 1702 were female. A total of 450 families resided in the village, with 754 children between the ages of 0 and 6. [1]

In 2011, the literacy rate in Malasar village was 76.21 % compared to the 66.11 % in the state. Male literacy was 69.32% while female literacy rate was 81.95%.[1]

Scheduled castes made up 14.54% of the population, while 2.5% of the population was made up of Scheduled tribes. [1]

Of the 1898 people in work, 38.99% of workers described their work as "Main Work" (employed more than 6 months), with 450 owner or co-owner cultivators and 31 agricultural workers. The remaining 61.01% of workers were involved in work for less than 6 months.[1]
