Samuel Colin Evanson (born 21 May 1999), is a Welsh singer and songwriter. His debut studio album titled We Are Meant To Break The Rules is due to be released in June 2024. The first single from the album is called 'She Was Blind' released on February 13th 2024 it has been described as having an "emotive lyrical theme which is felt along with his soaring voice"[1] in a recent review of the single published by RGM Magazine. Samuel's music has been described as 'cutting edge' and 'entrancing'. Samuel is also an actor and has several credits in this field, he may be known for playing Joey in the television series Joey's, this was his first major acting credit and the series received rave reviews on IMDB and has featured in the British Comedy Guide.[2]
Early life
Samuel was born on 21 May 1999 in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire and from a young age has always aspired to be a singer. Evanson's music career began back in 2016 when he released a cover song on Facebook which went viral overnight, the following year he performed live on BBC One and raised money for BBC Children In Need. After realising he had this talent he proceeded to enter competitions and won several local awards for various performances, he decided that's what he wanted to do or "at least give it a good go". When he moved to Liverpool in 2019 to pursue his music career the COVID pandemic hit and he was unable to fulfil his dreams and had to get a full time job to cover his bills, this is where he also discovered his love for acting and worked on several productions during this period.
Career
Samuel relocated from North Wales to Liverpool, England, in 2019 to begin his career in music but due to the pandemic he was unable to pursue this and had to gain full time employment to pay his bills and fund his dreams. He has since been working in television amongst other things and has recently returned to music, Samuel released the first single from his debut album on 13th February 2024 titled 'She Was Blind'. Samuel's music has been featured on BBC Radio Merseyside and on television. He may be known also for his acting role, playing 'Joey' in the television series Joey's which was released in 2023 and was featured in the Liverpool Echo.[3]
