Abeforth Dumbledore

Should add him. Ref https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1201607/characters/nm0001354 Infinitymittal (talk) 03:02, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Aberforth is already included in the table. —El Millo (talk) 03:06, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cedric Diggory in Prisoner of Azkaban

An uncredited actor (Joe Livermore) appears as the Hufflepuff Seeker (his costume is identified as 'Cedric Diggory's Quidditch robes' in BTS material) who is struck by lightning during the Quidditch match. Although not very notable, could the article say that Diggory was introduced in PoA instead of GoF? (here is an interview that maybe can be used as a source: https://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz/east-17s-joe-livermore-role-25648959 ) YgorD3 (talk) 21:06, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that in this case it would be better to still list the character as "Introduced in Goblet of Fire", but include a footnote next to the character's name detailing the uncredited actor appearing unnamed in the third film. Including the character as "Introduced in Prisoner of Azkaban" would be disingenuous in my view, since it was practically an unnamed extra. —El Millo (talk) 21:21, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I hadn’t thought of that - that makes sense. A footnote mentioning the Hufflepuff Seeker being identified as Diggory in PoA book and/or off-screen is certainly the best option. It still requires a source, right? I noticed that Daily Star is not allowed. YgorD3 (talk) 11:51, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I was able to find a source by AlloCiné which pretty much details everything relevant about the appearance. Two other sources in English only briefly said that Livermore played the character, not mentioning the call sheet, the fact he's a stuntman or that he was uncredited. —El Millo (talk) 15:46, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

William Melling redirect

Hello! I noticed that William Melling redirects to List of Harry Potter cast members; Melling played Nigel Wolport, a very minor (relevant discussion) character who is not included in the books (see Colin and Dennis Creevey). In December 2019, an article on Melling was the subject of an AfD (link) which closed as Redirect to this article.

But Melling is not listed here, so the redirect provides virtually no information about Melling other than the fact that he was in the series. Moreover, Melling is credited for other portrayals whose articles have him bluelinked (link), meaning that the redirect really only causes confusion.

The redirect is therefore a promising candidate for WP:RfD. Before bringing the article there, I wanted to check why Melling isn't included in the list. Looking at the page history, I think editor Facu-el Millo removed Nigel from the list in mid-2022. If Nigel's exclusion from the list is local consensus, I will nominate for WP:RfD. If instead it was an oversight, I will politely request that he be reinserted into the article to retain the redirect's usefulness. Thanks! My rationale for removing him at the time was: Nigel not relevant, not the character nor the actor have articles or sections ([1]), likely after I was not able to find any secondary reliable sources to corroborate his appearances, which would mean that they were not relevant enough to be included. I'll see what I can find, but if I can't find anything reliable, it can't be added. However, if the actor has appeared in other films, an article on him can be created at any time. —El Millo (talk) 23:57, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much; I can't believe I missed that edit summary! How silly of me. Okay, I will have a look too. To the best of my knowledge, the actor's other appearances are fairly minor, with I think only one major role in a minor one-series sitcom, so I don't think WP:NACTOR will justify a standalone article (per 2019 AfD too). Thanks once again for this! IgnatiusofLondon (talk) 00:02, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't been able to find any reliable sources that states the actor's appearances as Nigel in the specific films he appeared in. Having seen his other appeareances and his last role being Nigel in Deathly Hallows Part 2, I think this actor is just not notable enough for an article of his own and the redirect is due for RfD. —El Millo (talk) 00:09, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The reason is that Katie wasn't in Half Blood Prince or Deathly Hallows Part 1. She only visited them on set. 82.21.83.129 (talk) 19:55, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
