This is the discussion/talk page for: List_of_asteroids/1–100.

Created

[edit]

The list of asteroids 1-100 (article "List_of_asteroids/1–100") was created on 2-November-2005, by User:Python eggs. Since then, more than 1,900 related list articles have been added, using a standardized format to coordinate and access the data recorded about 173,100 asteroids (or more). -Wikid77 (talk) 14:58, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Added end of list

[edit]

14-Jan-2008: Now, in January 2008, I have added a redirection-name to the article at the end of the list: List_of_asteroids/end. As more lists are added, then that redirection should be updated to point to the current end of the list articles. -Wikid77 (talk) 14:58, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

20-Jan-2008: The article "List of asteroids/1–100" generates 100 sets of date/year links. Linking of every date, even when repeated, allows the selection of date-format preference; however, the year does not need to be linked: even if a registered user clicks "my preferences" to set date-format as ISO yyyy-mm-dd, the complete date can be reformatted by wikilinking just the month/day portion while leaving the year as plain text. In the case of the 173 articles of thousand-asteroid lists, each 1,000 year fields can be unlinked to reduce wikilinks overall by 173,000, or 2*173,000=346,000 fewer year links across both the 100s and 1000s asteroid lists. -Wikid77 (talk) 06:23, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
