Oils

Would somebody mind adding vegetable oils to the list of preparations? or maybe under the butter section mentioning that oil can be used as an alternative to butter. 71.171.97.111 (talk) 05:20, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Special/Magic

I've heard the term 'special' used far more prominately than 'magic' to reefer to cannabis spiked foodstuffs. ReverendG 01:47, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

The list of ingrediants cannot be copyrighted but the text of the instructions can be? Is the text of the recipe instructions ok to have here? Gbleem 03:27 Jan 23, 2003 (UTC)

That is not the original text of the recipe, but a paraphrase. - Montréalais

Even as a user I question the ethics around having the recipie (even though it's abridged) on this site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hagamaba (talkcontribs)

Quote source

To what source should the quoted text (beginning with "The late Poetess Gertrude...") be attributed? -- Arteitle 11:47, Mar 5, 2004 (UTC)

I see that the quoted passage can be found in the article at The Straight Dope on the recipe, and there it's only attributed to Time. I'm inclined to think that it could be summarised and unquoted in this article, so that's what I'll do. -- Arteitle 16:16, Mar 5, 2004 (UTC)

D'oh, I really should have examined the edit history. I see that it was only unattributed due to apparent vandalism by the most recent editor. I just reverted it back to the most recent complete version. -- Arteitle 16:40, Mar 5, 2004 (UTC)

Uh-Oh!

I hope nobody actually makes and eats these! Matau 01:49, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

Too Late...(if your on this page your obviously looking for it.)

Article name

Has the name of this article been disputed yet? Just because someone mentions a reciepe in their cookbook doesnt mean that you name something after them. I especially dont think the main article should be Alice B. Toklas brownies, but rather Cannabis brownies and then mention Alice B. Toklas as an aside. I really think she is to prominent in this article.--Gephart 19:51, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

You're right, please do so. ReverendG 01:48, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
nevermind, done. ReverendG 22:43, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Not that I've ever actually heard them called that (and thus don't mind the renaming), but "Alice B. Toklas" is a reference to a movie that features cannabis-laced brownies as a plot point; the name wouldn't have been derived from "someone mentions a recipe in their cookbook [and]... [someone] name[ed] it after them", but rather from the title of that film. See trivia section in the article for the ref. 4.235.0.59 18:35, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

There are so many names for baked cannabis foods maybe a more generic name would be better.
Also, the term brownie has a different meaning in the UK.

cleanup tag

This article seems to stray off topic a bit, I am going to come back in a few days when I have time and clean this up a bit. HighInBC 13:27, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

removal of content

I have removed a rather large amount of this article as it was unsourced and OR. Please find citations for what you return. Sorry if I have stepped on your toes. HighInBC 13:28, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Pop Culture? AGAIN!

Yet again, like the cancer it is, the old "Use in pop culture" heading has remetastisised, can no-one free us of this bullshit?

Cannabutter merge

It has been proposed that Cannabutter be merged into this article. I agree with the proposal. Much better than losing the article to AfD. --Evb-wiki 15:22, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

If there's anything that isn't Original research and for which references can be found, yes. Otherwise, it's just importing bad info. Pairadox 17:43, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Strongly support merge, SqueakBox 17:45, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
I support it also, this article lacks anything else good! JavaDog 19:19, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Merge! Go for it. simonthebold 08:28, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Pop Culture (The Parasite of this article)

Pop culture is dominating this article. This article needs help! We need someone to A) Cut out a lot of the Pop Culture and B) LOCALIZE it, No one needs to know the names of the characters, and who the characters are played by, they just need to know in ___ a character ____ a cannabis food.

There should be a Real Content:Pop Culture Content ration policy on Wikipedia. Sheesh! JavaDog 19:19, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Name change

Cannabis foods was highly ambiguous as a title. Foods naturally containing cannabis? I think the current t5itle is much more informative and isn't ambiguous. Thanks, SqueakBox 19:01, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Good move. It certainly sounds better now. --BorgQueen (talk) 03:18, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Merge proposal

This should be merged with cannabis foods, which are pretty much by definition cooked foods (as weed doesn't have psychoactive properties raw and hash is tastier and safer cooked than eaten raw). Thanks, SqueakBox 17:43, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

What happened to "Cannabis foods was highly ambiguous as a title," which you wrote in the section just above? Pairadox (talk) 03:26, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
