Globalize

[edit]

I added the Globalize/USA tag. This article at present only discusses the concept of gift tax using American law and precedent as examples. I'm genuinely curious what gift tax laws exist around the world, not just here in the USA. Dave (talk) 16:46, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dave, you are correct. I took the initiative to move USA-related content to the appropriate article. I replaced your Globalize tag with an About tag pointing to that article. Providing specifics of international law is left for other editors, and may in fact be a never-ending job since laws are updated from time to time. I added a phrase to this effect so people realize why the global perspective is not present. Jefflayman (talk) 21:05, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work, that cleared this up nicely.Meatsgains (talk) 21:12, 10 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

United Kingdom

[edit]

Why is the UK both in the "Countries without gift tax" and "Countries with gift tax" lists? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:80:2E2E:6E93:8E89:A5FF:FECC:563A (talk) 16:35, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Austria

[edit]

Austria does have a gift tax, albeit with a huge allowance.
