Not transgender?

[edit]

The article says nullos are not transgender, but some obviously are. It makes sense that a neutrois or agender person might want to become a nullo. Is there a difference here? -Snoodspirit (talk) 20:18, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What I meant to say is that nullos are not necessarily transgender; it's not part of the definition. But you're correct, so I added the word "necessarily". FiredanceThroughTheNight (talk) 02:40, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

This page seems to have been created to mirror something in the Urban Dictionary, but to be a Wikipedia page there needs to be an encyclopaedic subject. It is not enough that such body modification exists, as we have a Body modification page that covers this subject as fully as it is here. I have bold moved the page to a more encyclopaedic title, but there also needs to be treatment of the subject in secondary sources. This would not be occasional actual cases, but rather a treatment of the subject and concept. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 08:57, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Perhaps this could be updated with the new information added to the Gender Affirming Surgery regarding Non-binary people.
There's not enough reliable information yet, though.
I do agree this page shouldn't be classified as "Body Modification", since that may be one reason to have the surgery done, but not the only one.
I hope my comment helps. 186.34.109.70 (talk) 04:43, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There seem to be a fair amount of sources about it as a gender affirming surgery. To list a few:

It may support notability to cite court cases that show the effect that consent is seen problematic when it comes to body mods aside from surgery, cf. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/mar/22/eunuch-maker-appears-london-court-gbh-charges-castration 2A02:3030:600:8E00:3A0D:4857:6853:3616 (talk) 16:18, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with all those sources are they are primary. Three places that offer the surgery are clearly primary. The news report is primary in the way news reporting is, and the only secondary information is the last sentence. Even that is problematic in that it is in a newspaper, and the source of the information is unclear. I have WP:BLARed the page to a more suitable location. Note that this is easily reverted, but all the information in this page is now in that page, where it sits in a better context. I believe that is a suitable and non controversial improvement to our encyclopaedic coverage. This page will redirect there. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 07:17, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sirfurboy Good move (haha, pun partially intended). The article as it was almost exclusively focused on the emasculation aspect of nullification anyway, so the move is plenty justified (imho).
I'm starting a draft in my userspace on nullification beacuse I believe the subject still deserves its own article, and a proper one at that.
Sadly nullification on its own has little to no unbiased or broad definitions, and even less citeable sources, so im not sure when the draft will be suitable for mainspace. Hopefully the subject as a whole gets covered more, and sooner rather than later. ¿VØ!D?  18:19, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. As and when you have something ready for mainspace, you could, of course, overwrite the redirect. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 18:42, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
