Plot Description

The description of the film plot seems a little wayward. Clerici does not, for instance, complain about having a gun until some time after being given it; in fact he seems to rather enjoy play acting with it when he first gets it. And there is no indication that Clerici wants or is able to kill the professor at the dance they go to (it hasn't 'been thrown'), he instead hands over information about where the professor will be going the next day to his fellow operative, thus indirectly killing him.

Is it possible the plot information is more based on the book than the film? In which case it should perhaps be changed. I neither know enough about the film nor the book to feel entirely comfortable doing this.

The present plot summary says that Clerici “sits near a small fire and looks intently behind him at the man Lino was previously talking to.” Surely, the man is a male prostitute?

UK Broadcasts

I've seen this film multiple times on television in the UK and it's always shown under it's French name (Le Conformiste) and I've seen it refered to on art and culture type shows under the french name. Does any one know any more about this or why? Is this a different version than the USA version (It's always shown in Italian/French with English subtitles)(Morcus (talk) 19:36, 15 April 2011 (UTC))[reply]
