California/Berkeley

Hi there. I'd agree with EGG for "at California", but less so with "against California", where I think readers understand its a college team, not entire state. I don't think there's a convention to change other flagship universities e.g. North Carolina for University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I'll leave Kareem's to your judgement. —Bagumba (talk) 09:20, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

@Bagumba: hey again, thanks for dropping the note here, and for extending the courtesy to allow me flexibility on editing. It's all good though, your edit of adding "UC Berkeley" in parentheses is a perfect compromise and makes total sense to me, no complaints at all. Best, Left guide (talk) 09:26, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
I'd still drop it for consistency, but I guess the counter-argument is that Cal doesn't have that rich a sports history where people generally know which school is "California". —Bagumba (talk) 09:34, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
