"Crimes"

"He was beheaded for his crimes" makes no sense- what crimes? Christians were martyred by order of the Roman emperor. Not only was it not a crime to kill them, it was a direct order from the emperor.

References need replacement

I also have strong reservations about ALL of the listed sources on this article. Every single one that I can see is a Christian church website. I think they might be a little biased when it comes to talking about people who martyred Christians. None of them looks reputable, and only one of them cites a source (Eusebius). In my opinion, every reference in this article should be tossed and replaced with a citation to Eusebius's original text. Ikjbagl (talk) 19:25, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Roman governor of the Iudaea Province

Firmilian, as well as Flavianus and Urbanus are introduced as "the Roman governor of the Iudaea Province", in the early 4th c. CE. But there was no such province since 136 CE when the various roman provinces in the region were merged into the new province of Syria Palaestina (Συρία ἡ Παλαιστίνη).

Are there any independent (non-Christian) records of the list of 4th-c. Roman officials in Caesarea Maritima? 2607:FEA8:4C22:3400:ADBA:B844:8093:58DE (talk) 19:08, 21 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
