Jasmine Jasudavicius (born March 1, 1989) is a Canadian mixed martial artist (MMA). She currently competes in the Flyweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As of July 19, 2024, she is #14 in the UFC women's flyweight rankings.[4]

Background

Jasudavicius was born in 1989 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada to John and Rita Lianga.[5]She grew up as the middle child with two other siblings.[5]Although she was an athlete in her school days, her MMA career had a late start, beginning by chance, when she met Chris Pickett in 2016.[5]

Mixed martial arts career

Early career

Jasudavicius started fighting in amateur bouts in 2017 and soon amassed a record of 4 wins and no losses in amateur fights.[3]

Jasudavicius started her professional career when she faced Brigid Chase on July 13, 2019 at WFC – World Fighting Championships 109. She won the fight via rear naked choke submission in round two.[6]

She next faced Kylie O’Hearn on September 7, 2019 at Cage Titans: Combat Night 2. She won the fight via unanimous decision.[7]

Jasudavicius faced Christina Ricker on November 30, 2019 at BTC 8: Eliminator. She won the fight via technical knockout in round one.[8]

Jasudavicius faced Gabriella Gulfin on February 1, 2020 at CFFC 81. She won the fight via technical knockout in round one.[9]

Jasudavicius faced Elise Reed on October 18, 2020 at CFFC 83 for the vacant Cage Fury Fighting Championships strawweight title. She lost the fight via split decision.[10][11]

Jasudavicius next faced Ashley Deen on March 12, 2021 at CFFC 93. She won the fight via unanimous decision.[12]

Jasudavicius was invited to face Julia Polastari on September 14, 2021 at Dana White's Contender Series 39, where she won the bout via unanimous decision and secured a UFC contract.[13]

Ultimate Fighting Championship

Jasudavicius made her UFC debut on January 22, 2022 at UFC 270 against Kay Hansen. She won the fight via unanimous decision.[14]

Jasudavicius faced Natália Silva on June 18, 2022 at UFC on ESPN 37: Kattar vs. Emmett. She lost the fight via unanimous decision.[15]

Jasudavicius faced Gabriella Fernandes on February 25, 2023 at UFC Fight Night 220: Muniz vs. Allen. She won the fight via unanimous decision.[16]

Jasudavicius faced Miranda Maverick on June 10, 2023 at UFC 289. She won the fight via unanimous decision.[17]

Jasudavicius faced Tracy Cortez on September 16, 2023 at UFC Fight Night 227: Grasso vs. Shevchenko 2. She lost the fight via unanimous decision.[18]

Jasudavicius faced Priscila Cachoeira on January 20, 2024 at UFC 297. She won the fight via anaconda choke submission in round two[19]and set a new UFC record for the biggest strike differential in a single bout, by a margin of 326-26 total strikes.[20]The win earned her the Performance of the Night award.[21]

Jasudavicius was initially scheduled to face Viviane Araújo on July 13, 2024 at UFC on ESPN 59: Namajunas vs. Cortez.[22] However, when Viviane Araújo withdrew due to injury, the match was rebooked against Fatima Kline on less than two weeks notice.[23] Jasudavicius won the fight via unanimous decision.[24]
