I was wondering why you denied my request when you read through the histroy of the page your can see all the vandals. I just can't understand why. I will be removing the page from wiki its just ashame i cannot get page protection like some people have.

We protect pages when it's appropriate, and I'm afraid it's not appropriate here. And I'm also afraid it is impossible for you to remove the page from Wikipedia, that is something only administrators can do. --Deskana (fry that thing!) 02:10, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE Admin coaching

It's to teach advanced wiki skills and help with understanding procedures, and/or to help get the trainee through RfA. WP:ADMINCOACH doesn't even expressly state that admin coaches must be admins; it just says "experienced users". It says ...experienced users, being better versed in the qualities expected of a prospective admin, help the hopefuls learn the ways of Wikipedia. So I couldn't see anything that suggested I shouldn't do it. Walton Need some help? 18:12, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Deskana

I was told that you were the administrator in charge of the WikiProject Dragon Ball. Could you take a look at this current matter? In case its too much reading for you, I'm proposing that the Dragon Ball character names follow one type of form (instead of all three as they are now) among these name translations:

  1. English Manga names
  2. English dub names
  3. Steve "Daimao" Simmons names

Steve "Daimao" Simmons was the one who translated the Dragon Ball anime series' Japanese audio to English subtitles on the FUNimation DVDs for non-Japanese viewers. Among all name selections, I suggest Simmons' translated names take precedence because they seem more accurate than the others. What bothers me is that DBZROCKS explains, "We are using the common names people will understand". I was under the impression that the project was utilizing the most correct, translated and original form, much like we're doing at the Dragon Ball wikia. One of your staff named Dark Dragon Flame claimed that you were not reliable, albeit I hope the other way around. ~I'm anonymous

I'm sorry. Perhaps it's not the time and place of a non-member to suggest something for a WikiProject. I'll edit elsewhere, since DBZROCKS seems to be the one most annoyed by my idea. This kind of dispute reminds me of a little problem I had when I first started out on the DB wikia. A user named Recoome was also against my edits and rejected them. It took a while for the user to comply, although I haven't heard again from Recoome in a long while. I don't like to make enemies, so I just drop-out before the going gets rough. I'll apologize to your fellow member DBZROCKS as well for my "butting in".

Salutations, ~I'm anonymous

Thanks!

Thanks so much for fixing my page! I'd give you my Happy Falcon award but I don't know where to put it... Thanks again! N i g h t F a l c o n 9 0 9 0 9' T a l k 15:59, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's alright, I'm not really amazingly fond of awards anyway but it's nice that you want to give me one :-) --Deskana (fry that thing!) 01:15, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification

I see you noticed the "not exactly reliable" part of my comment to User:I'm anonymous's talk page, by not reliable I meant not fammiliar with some Dragon Ball matters wich may make you unable to interfere in matters as delicate as names to be choosen, nothing about your performance as an admin or anything, just clearing things up, Peace :) -- 19:13, 27 April 2007 (UTC) [reply]

My user page

How are you able to spy though my userpage and why!? Don't do it again, --Kid Sonic 17:42, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I will "moan all I want". How dare you browse through people's userpages. What's you mission/objective in doing so? How would you like it if I went through and started editing your userpage. --Kid Sonic 18:37, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You talk as if looking at someone's user page is a crime. People make a user page so other people can look at it. The only reason people keep editing your page is because you have innapropriate content on it. Our "objective" is to remove innaprorpiate content from articles, including user pages. If you don't like it, then just leave. No one's forcing you to stay. // DecaimientoPoético 18:45, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • How would you even know in the first place? The only way you would've found out was to go to the edit page, but what made you go there in the first place?.
Actually, we don't have to edit your page to find out what you added. All we have to do is click the "diff" button on our wachlist or click the "last" button in your page's history. // DecaimientoPoético 19:33, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • It won't be long before he adds you to his "least favorite Wikipedians" section. He'll probably call you "Descruda" or something equally uninspired. JuJube 00:06, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Undoing one of your autoblocks

I recently attempted to unblock Braves27 (talk · contribs) who was autoblocked by your block of User:Kid Sonic (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log). Could you please look at the situation, for 2 reasons?

  1. I've never undone an autoblock before and want to be sure I did it right.
  2. You blocked the original user, please confirm this was collateral damage, not a sock.

Thanks in advance. —dgiestc 02:33, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That seems fine. There is another way of doing it, where you can unblock the autoblockID, but directly unblocking the IP address works as well. I don't think it's a sock, as Kid Sonic is a long way off having interest in Psalms. --Deskana (fry that thing!) 07:17, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing that one out to me, I've blocked him as a likely sockpuppet. --Deskana (fry that thing!) 09:45, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Checkuser procedure

You recently compiled and listed a case at requests for checkuser. A checkuser or clerk has requested you supply one or more diffs to justify the use of the checkuser procedure in the case, in accordance with the procedures listed in the table at the top of the requests for checkuser page. For an outcome to be achieved, we require that you provide these diffs as soon as possible. This has been implemented to reduce difficulties for checkusers, and is essential for your case to be processed. A link to your recently-created case which has this information missing is here. Thanks for your co-operation. -- lucasbfr talk 16:11, 29 April 2007 (UTC), checkuser clerk.[reply]

Hi

Hi, I'm an admin on Wikibooks and you appear to have created an account in your name on there. I have reasons to believe it may not have been you doing this tho! I'd like to sort it out so if you could let me know (email if you want some more info?) Cheers --Herby talk thyme 10:09, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - it links with a CU query FWIW - Johnny the Vandal (tho I can no longer find the page here) so I'll indef block it for now. May be worth your while keeping an eye out cheers --Herby talk thyme 11:49, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Myalysk is Kid Sonic?!

Not yet. Users like this either keep getting their block extended until it reaches indef, or learn and stop trying to use socks. Sockpuppets are quite easy to spot as I've had a lot of experience with them. Normally most of the evidence you get is circumstantial, but there's typically so much that it becomes extremely unlikely to be false. --Deskana (fry that thing!) 12:32, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I have a feeling he's talking to himself quite a bit using socks. I find that quite funny. --Deskana (fry that thing!) 12:35, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rob deletion

Just wondered why you have deleted rob's banned user page Frelke 10:52, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Except that with a deleted page, the history is gone. If you really think he's long gone and won't be back, then well there's not much more I can say except that I bet you're wrong. And I don't think I was making a fuss. Frelke 12:10, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I probably am making a fuss now, but ...
The deletion of the user account was one of my main issues after the first banning. It meant that the history was hearsay rather than evidential. If you preferred I not revert, I only needed to be asked. Frelke 17:17, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:

Well, I used the bv template because people who creates an account to vandalise George Bush article usually itends to only vandalise on that account. Next time though I'll keep that in mind, thanks. --Y.Ichiro (会話) 19:05, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Couldn't help commenting... :)

From your user page: Great unanswered questions: ..... since blocks are never used as punishment.

Agree with you that blocks are probably never done to punish someone. But getting blocked very much feels like punishment I think. Like a rap on the knuckles by your KG teacher or something. I came this close to getting blocked (because i didn't know how to do something properly and have a very slow dial-up connection) and believe me, I'd never have tried editing WP again if i was blocked then. :)) - TwoOars (T | C) 10:00, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And I feel strongly about this but like you said, I was one of many who wasn't aware of the TfD (because I never participate). Came across it just now. Hmph. - TwoOars (T | C) 10:24, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
About that TfD, I think what you did was right. Wikipedia is constantly changing with users dropping out and lots of new users joining in, so you get different results from a TfD at different times. So you might try again some other time. Or I might if I feel like "getting bashed". Though this template has a kind of allure to it and I too toyed with the idea of a vandalism-count template. :) - TwoOars (T | C) 13:32, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the change of license is okay. I didn't notice that the Stop X nuvola icon was licensed under CC. Thanks for changing it for me. -- Hdt83 Chat 21:07, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:ADOPT input

Hello, Deskana. The Adopt-a-User program is looking for new ideas and input on the program. Categories in redirects

As you've helped me with this issue before, can you please help me explain to Piemanmoo why categories don't usually belong in redirects? I've tried every tact I can think of and he is dead-set on including them to the point that he's trying to goad me into 3RR'ing. It's terribly frustrating. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 07:53, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can I ask, can non-admin grant block-free editing to a known blocked user? R_Orange 19:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Confessions Tour

On 13 May, you blocked this page upon request to try to eliminate repetitive vandalism. This has continued, as this User has signed themselves up an account. Despite best efforts, this User keeps reversing a referenced fact with unreferenced, opinion, and off topic comment. From the comments they have left on my talk page, it is as though they are misguided rather than an vandal. Rather than getting them banned, I would like to know if you could drop them a line? Maggott2000 01:52, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The user has been told enough times that what they're doing is wrong. The page was protected to prevent them from doing it, so they registered an account to get around the protection and carried on anyway. Repeated unsourced additions regarding living people will not be tolerated. In short, their account was indefinitely blocked. If they want to come back and register a new account in a few days time, and make good contributions to the encyclopedia, they are welcome to. They are blocked, not banned. --Deskana (AFK 47) 13:07, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cooler

Some random user has changed Coola to Cooler recentally. I was going to report it to sugested moves but I just felt more comfortable telling an admin I know. The user changed it on the grounds that (and I quote) "Its Cooler on the Funimation site". It can't be reverted due to a redirect being placed on Coola. The other wikiproject Dragon Ball members have concensus on this, can you change it back to Coola? DBZROCKS 21:54, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done. If it happens again, leave me a notice and I'll revert and move protect. --Deskana (AFK 47) 01:33, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um well I was going to my user page to do my daily fixes and updates and I saw a Miscellany for Deletion notice on my page. The link doesn't take me anywhere and I can't get it off my page. Can you help me get it off? DBZROCKS 01:23, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:Micheal-Nick

Can you please also look at the activities of this User. Again, a User who keeps reversing regardless of what they are being told. However, the comment he made to User:146.171.254.65, I consider he has crossed the line. Maggott2000 05:50, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I need your assistance

Hi. It's me, User:I'm anonymous. I'm sure you remember me, correct? I am not aware of all the powers that admins. possess but perhaps you can help me with one thing. A user named Recoome who aids me in the DB wiki has seemingly lefted Wikipedia and I believe the DB wiki as well as a result of a clash with another user, Power level (Dragon Ball), whom I had to research profoundly about since the user keeps his/her archive hidden. What may have caused the latter incivilities on both their part may have something to cohort with this disturbing user (click the deletion log on that talk page). In reality, I am unsure on how to locate my partner Recoome so I figured that with your administrative powers you may be of help to me? Thanks. ~I'm anonymous

I'm not really sure what you expect me to do. Power Level has done nothing wrong in the past few weeks, and infact Recoome has (since he has made a few personal attacks). --Deskana (AFK 47) 23:45, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh no, I'm just asking if you could locate Recoome for me if have the admin. powers as given. If you find Recoome, can you notify me? I want to ask him if he is going to continue helping me in the DB wiki. That is all. ~I'm anonymous
How do you mean, "locate"? The best either of us can do is e-mail him (if his e-mail is enabled) or track his contributions. --Deskana (AFK 47) 00:09, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
E-mail? I don't believe he has one. Let's leave it at this then: if I happen to notice that a new user is editing wiki with Recoome's similar edits, then I'll ask if he was Recoome in a previous time. Now, we at the DB wiki are down to four active users now — this is what saddens me the most. :( Oh well, thanks for helping me. ~I'm anonymous
Hi. I think I may have some new suspicions regarding Recoome's sudden retirement, the wikia user responsible for the recent vandalism, and a personal attack by this ip to the user Power Level. I've been told by Dantman (the admin on the DB wikia) that CheckUser is used to solved matters such as sockpuppetry. Dark Dragon Flame has revealed to me on my talk page that User:Zarbon is User:Recoome; I've seen little indication that they are the same person, however. Could you, who has been involved with these three users, provide me some insight that may lead me to find the one responsible for the recent vandalism on the DB wiki? Regards, ~I'm anonymous
If you could see these two long discussions, Vandal report and Re:, I think you'll find that we have a more than enough case for CheckUser. My apologies if the readings are too long. ~I'm anonymous
Heh, you never got back to me on this CheckUser thingy but it's okay, we don't have to deal with it no longer. Recoome had confirmed to me and another admin.[1] that he was using those ips to vandalise so there's no need for a CheckUser here. If you haven't already done so, keep an eye on him — I fear another "Prince Zarbon" may strike soon, as this bewildering message proved true after all. ~I'm anonymous
Sorry about not responding, it totally escaped my mind. --Deskana (AFK 47) 19:21, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, you're not the first to tell me that {+_+} I guess I'm a boring guy (joke). All kidding aside, I thought the reading was too much for you to handle. Regardless, it's over for now, though I've learned that nothing's ever over on wiki — I had asked the admin. AuburnPilot to fully protect Recoome's userpage (as you had done to Power Level's) in case any "random accounts" suspiciously remove that sockmaster template. What do you suggest, since you've dealt with the user before and still do practically?^_^? ~I'm anonymous
Never mind, I can find other admins to help me. Thanks anyways. ~I'm anonymous

Unresolved matters concerning Giovanni

He has lost all interest in discussing any edits. As he just ignores whatever I say, what should I do? Maybe you could talk to him? He has ignored the potential for mediation as far as I can see. Maybe you could open another arbitration application - the RfCs went nowhere. John Smith's 22:44, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you can provide diffs supporting the statement that he's ignoring mediation, then I will make such a request. --Deskana (AFK 47) 23:46, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In that case I'll file a formal application. I was refering more to the informal mediation you'd proposed. Maybe when I file it, I'll ask them to talk to you or something. John Smith's 09:59, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The request was filed and I notified him, but he has ignored my message and continued editing without signing off. What's next? John Smith's 22:39, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Give him some time to respond. We'll see what happens. --Deskana (AFK 47) 22:52, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I sent him another message. John Smith's 23:33, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

Just to let you know Power Level did it again and added that tag to my profile. I only came back to look at an episode of the Simpsons as I'm taping them and noticed my profile had been edited. I did personally attack him but he provoked me under pressure. You can block me if you want. I'm going to remove Wikipedia from my quick links so I won't come back again. Sorry for your time. Thanks Recoome

Broly---> Broli

Just like with Coola, Broly is being changed to Broli due to concencus at the dussucssion at theWP:DBZ discussion page. Can you change the page to Broli, fix any redirects and change all instances of Broly to Broli? DBZROCKS 22:47, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You may wish to discuss this a bit more. The consensus isn't exactly clear due to the few oppose votes mixed in with minimal support. Yes, there are more support votes than oppose, but that's not a consensus, yet. --Deskana (AFK 47) 11:44, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you want that page to redirect to your own (which I don't understand, but there's nothing prohibiting it) it would be good practice to create that account and then redirect the userpage to yours, so no other user can register the account. However, User:Dbzr does exist, and as such it would be inappropriate to redirect their userpage to yours, even though that user doesn't edit. --Deskana (AFK 47) 14:40, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Soy protein

As per your request - User:Squaletc, User:Equaletef, User:BQuezeltet, User:Qualtet, User:Querllat, User:FankY76 are all sockpuppets deleting content from Soy protein. I've not been involved in the core dispute, I'm simply reverting what is obvious vandalism - however with each revert, a new puppet appears and deletes the content again. [User:Coelacan] blocked a number of these socks earlier today. I know I've violated 3RR, however I'm editing under the pretense that this is simple vandalism. --Quartet 02:30, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's good to see - I was worried there that with all the similar user names to mine that I would end up blocked too. Thanks for your prompt attention and for educating this fairly new user at the same time. --Quartet 02:43, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DBZROCKS

I have placed reason after reason at the discussion at Buu concerning his irritating behaviour. ~I'm anonymous

He won't listen to me. Perhaps you can explain it better? ~I'm anonymous

Old article Help

Could you do me a favor? I was recentally editing the article List of aliens in Dragon Ball when I noticed that the section on Dodoria had no mention of his name pun (highly common in Dragon Ball). Before you told me that you could view deleted articles. Can you check the old Dodoria article to see if it mentioned Dodoria's name pun? I'd greatally apreciate it. Re: Re: You

Perhaps. I thought you sounded familiar too, except for the name. I used to edit Wikipedia as an ip user. Though my past as an ip wasn't that great; not that I vandalized or anything, let's just say that I should have familiarized myself with Wikipedia's rules more. When a user invited me to the Dragon Ball wiki, I accepted. That's when I decided to create an account there and I worked my way up. To make a long story short, I didn't plan on editing this encyclopedia until Majinvegeta invited me to WP:DBZ. Pretty much, here I am. I think Dantman does know you (from the other account you said you used). That possible? ~I'm anonymous

No. The other account has about ten edits and isn't easily recognisable. The only other accounts I own aside from this and the other one I mentioned are User:Deskbanana (which I've completely forgotten the password to) and User:DeskanaTest. --Deskana (talk) 01:51, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, never mind then. Though I'm curious, I don't really wanna talk about my past, do you by chance remember what my ip was (it used to change numbers but rarely) Or whom you may have confused me with? ~I'm anonymous
No I don't. If you only edited by IP, you're not who I was thinking you were anyway. You probably wouldn't like it if I told you who I was thinking you were. --Deskana (talk) 02:01, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I think I knew DBZROCKS before also, if he had an earlier account. I used to get in similar "arguements" with other users before about Dragon Ball, comics and other things so its not impossible. Then again, most users have a trademark style of editing. Eh, whatever. I like to put the past behind me, I'm not one to dwell in bad memorabilia. ~I'm anonymous
Oh yeah, the account name "Deskbanana" is hilarious. Actually, the name I saw in my mind "Deskanabanana" is even more worth lol-ing! You should change your sig to Deskanabanana instead, just a cool thought. I might do the same for my own sig soon. ~I'm anonymous

I've got people giving such redundant and repetitive comments as to why supporting characters such as Muten Roshi and Bulma (mostly Bulma) deserve articles. {sighs}, would you agree that WP:AFD is a better way to resolve these things? ~I'm anonymous

I should let you know that I meant to afd articles from here on end after a discussion does not work out well. This explain enough? ~I'm anonymous
You say it as if the support side is giving different answers. 12:25, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Editcountitis, I believe, is what you're looking for? It's an essay though, not a policy. Acalamari 22:41, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Something you should take a look at

Remember our ol' pall User:JB196 (aka Jonathan Barber)? The guy you blocked indefinitely for being a persistent troll and even got his own long term abuse page on Wikipedia. Well apparently, still mad at WP:PW for "stealing his work" and me also, he's been rounding up his gang of trolls on this message board ([2], [3], [4], [5]) Users from the board have since been trolling around WP:PW articles. Two users in particular (User:King Of Cable, User:PT Sandman) have been reverting my removal of their nonsense, vandalism, original research, theories, and speculations. User:King Of Cable has also been removing cited information and replacing it with unsourced content from their message boards. ([6], [7]) When asked for a source he keeps saying that a source was provided and that our warning is "bogus", however, no source was added during his edits and even removed a "citation need" template. The dispute has even gotten to the point where he is accusing me of owning the article. I tried explaining on Talk:Big Gold Belt that I don't WP:OWN and that "Wikipedia is not a place for some guy's theories about how things were made, things that don't have a point, opinions that show how you feel about certain things, predictions on how things will turn out, etc." and that "What we do is NOT remove information and replace it with factual errors. What we do is enforce and uphold Wikipedia's three main governing policies (Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Verifiability, and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view), that’s why we need to remove the things that violate these policies. It's not a matter of owning an article when you are un-doing an addition, removal, or change of content made by those who deliberately attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. We assume good faith when we see editors make these changes and we easily correct them and refer them to the proper policy or guideline that can help them". I also told King of Cable that "Instead of endlessly reverting for the sake of reverting, why not just take a break? if he did in fact provide a source for his edit about how then why not refer us to your source and correct our mistake" (even after that he kept on reverting the article and his talk page) Please read my reply here. Again the two JB196 meat puppets didn't think my points were valid [8]. That’s why I've contacted you. Maybe you could clarify a few things for them and for me. I hope that you do take a look at this man. I got tired of dealing with JB196 a loooong time ago. -- bulletproof 3:16 17:02, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have this IP who accused me of being anti-Christian, anti-muslim, anti-semite and anti-religion in general (I guess because I identify myself as an atheist with a userbox)[9]. When I removed the comment, the IP put a picture of Eric Cartman in drag on my talkpage[10]. After removing that, he replied that the first amendment allows him to put what he wants on my talkpage[11] (in response to a comment I left on his talkpage asking him politely to stop calling my all those things[12]). Black Library gaming (Warhammer 40,000)

" there is a lot of prose and text."

Actually, there isn't much prose and text. Everything is also properly cited to its sources. If you could please point out where I pulled copyrighted information, please do. Thanks.

"Are you the original author of all the text in this page? "

Yes, I am. Anything such as what character names are, what items they have, what appearances they have made, is all cited to original sources without invalidating copyrights. I do research for a living, and you can trust me that I take this seriously. SanchiTachi 00:23, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And I apologize for any roughness of tone. In my line of work and education (Archaeological research, and doctoral in British Lit, both are heavy with research and any thing near a claim of impropriety tends to set people on edge) its a serious matter. I must ask, did you mean copied from the primary sources, or from the other page? I wrote the other page, List of Warhammer 40,000 graphic novels‎ under the title of "Graphic Novels (Warhammer 40,000)" to discuss the miniatures and the graphic novels produced by the company around the 40k game. It was latter pounced upon and decided by others that it should be a graphic novels page. I took what work I had, moved it over, expanded the page to have the original miniatures information and have expanded on it significantly since. But thats the page you have now. It was being worked on in my sandbox here for quite a long time so I could finish the page before it would be pounced upon (and changed). Hence why it came out in such a significant size. SanchiTachi 00:30, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would prefer the page blocked for at least a few days until the people who kept pouncing on my page have grown tired and leave. Before reverting a third time, I did not change the bottom format changes. However, I stand by my reverts of the top "Warhammer 40,000 games" as only bolding Warhammer 40,000, as the bolding of "games" is not verifiabily correct and goes against what the title says (gaming is Black Library, not Warhammer 40,000).
Also, many of my reverts were to restore whole sale changed text was ruined when reverted (i.e. there were corrects to wiki links and sources that kept getting trampled on).
Plus the bolding issue does not apply, as this is something not covered under the MoS. The "Warhammer 40,000" bolded is very different than the Warhammer 40,000 italics. One is a universe/gaming system, the other is a book/specific books. Please note how other groups have used it before. To put italics would also add confusing, as you would need to put the specific edition of the book, or the information is very uncorrect. The people editing the information are people without exposure to the game and speak out of inexperience. Its the equivalent of someone saying that the "Bible" page should be lower case because the Greek used bible as any book, and that the page should be about just any book. SanchiTachi 00:37, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note to say another user [15] pointed out concerns of a content fork with List of Warhammer 40,000 graphic novels. As I've said on both talk pages I don't see it as being a problem fot the future of both entries (as they are vaiable and separate entries) but as we are working to get the first entry renamed and out of edit protection it might be worth checking to make sure we aren't going to run into any problems immediately. Again see my comments as to why we can work from this to build two strong entries, but I don't know enough about the licensing/forking issues involved to ensure we have all the angles covered for when they are both edittable again. Thanks for the help. (Emperor 00:44, 28 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

I think nominating it for deletion might be a good idea. --Deskana (talk) 00:46, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thing is I genuinely think that the scope and remit of Black Library gaming (Warhammer 40,000) is enough to make it a very different entry from the one we are working on (or trying to) at List of Warhammer 40,000 graphic novels‎. Despite all the drama and hassle Sanchi has produced a lot of solid information (largely working in their sandbox, hence the rapid appearance of a lot of content). Does it explicitly break any actual guidelines that would make it a prime candidate for deletion as, purely on content and scope, I'd vote to keep it as it stands. Would it help if [[List of Warhammer 40,000 graphic novels‎] were unlocked (as we are working towards) so we can edit it according to the consensus which should show how different the two would eventually be (after all both have only been live for a few days - the first having been locked for most of that time)? I'm afraid I'm not up to speed on some of the more esoteric licensing guidelines so thanks for any help in pointing out the problems. If they are fixable we should be able to draw up a plan to address them and resolve this issue without much further mess.
Feel free to reply here as I have you on my watchlist. (Emperor 00:57, 28 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]
If you're happy with the page based purely on content and scope, then its fine. I've sorted out any potential legal issues by performing a history merge. --Deskana (talk) 01:37, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated. That has been big help. Hopefully we can move on and start actually editting and improving these pages. (Emperor 02:14, 28 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

While I obviously agree with the block, I can't say that I think the talk page full protection with infinite expiration was a great idea, given it was a 24hr block. Regardless, he's chill now, so I unprotected. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Swatjester (talkcontribs).

I was annoyed when I did it, so I did it in a bit of a rush. I would have unprotected once the block had expired, anyway. --Deskana (talk) 15:05, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a quick note but a user known only by their IP has been editting the two pages that were locked in this dispute and a third one that was also controversial. This edit not only removes some o Sanchi's controversial statements on the third entry's talk page but already has virtually reached the point of breaking the 3RR (as their comments show) [16] - of course this might not be connected in anyway but I assume you have ways of checking this (especially as it looks like an edit war is imminent over there). Mind checking this out too?

User:I Always Win (note name) recently created an account a few days ago. Today he has been removing notes related to professional wrestling events in articles of arenas such as Staples Center and Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. He claims that these notes are not notable to the articles. However the consensus at WP:PW is that a note about major pro wrestling events should be made to the related venue article. When I refer this user to the consensus he goes out and files a report on me at the admin noticeboard/incidents. Now I believe the first step to resolve a dispute per Wikipedia:Resolving disputes should have been a formal talk between the parties involved. Instead he just goes all out and reports me on the admin noticeboard. After he accused me of having an WP:OWN problem (hint, seems familiar) he was accused by two other users of being a sock. Now while I don't believe he is a sock of User:Chadbryant since I've never talked to him before, I do believe that he is a sock of the other User:JB196 meat puppets that you blocked about a week ago. He is a sock of someone. I doubt that new registered users automatically know about WP:OWN and the Admin noticeboard upon making their first edit. Please see the Admin noticeboard case here -- bulletproof 3:16 23:49, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet?

To answer your question, no. Judging by the post above, I think the wrestling fans are having a hard time figuring out which of their adversaries to accuse me of being a sockpuppet of. I Always Win 04:51, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what Then you'd be very smart not to act like one. is supposed to mean. I edited a few articles and apparently stepped on the toes of a few wrestling fans, who then chose to play the "sockpuppet" card, as I've seen happen before I ever registered an account. It's clear that a "consensus" has been reached to include pro wrestling references in as many articles as possible, and there's no sense in wasting my time arguing with it and interfering with the real purpose of this project.
