Template:Family Guy character

The fictional version of Adam West on the animated television series Family Guy is a caricature of actor Adam West, who also supplies his voice.

The character we've created is kind of this alternate-universe Adam West where he's mayor of this town, and we deliberately have not made any references to Batman, because we like keeping that separate. It's the obvious place to go. We tried it, we thought it would be funny to do something different with the mayor of this town. People like Clint Eastwood and Martin Sheen who have taken whacks at this sort of thing — there's a precedent for it, actors getting into politics. He's the mayor, but he's this guy who clearly does not have it all together.

Biography

Mayor West is an intense, soft-spoken lunatic whose delusional acts include using public money to fund an investigation into "Who's stealing his water" when it's added to flowers or poured in a sink and dispatching the entire Quahog police force to Colombia to assist in the rescue of the fictional protagonists of Romancing the Stone.

Sometimes, however, his delusions appear to be real even in the presence of other characters. He once sent Alex Trebek back to the fifth dimension by making him say his name backwards. He also warned Meg about The Noid who later appears and tries to ruin his pizza, but West catches and brutally kills him.

He appears to be easily confused — for example, when confronted with his misspelled name (in Breaking Out Is Hard To Do), asks "My name isn’t Adam We ... or is it?".

West does not appear to have family (apart from having legally married his right hand). His romantic entanglements include once having slept with Luke Perry (because he thought it would make Perry stop stealing his water), and an intimate but chaste liaison with then-intern Meg Griffin.

It has also been revealed that he has (or has delusions of having) a one-eyed cat named Bootsy.

Role as Mayor

As Mayor of Quahog, Adam West is the city’s most powerful civil servant, able to spend the entire city budget on building a gold statue of the Dig 'Em Frog in dedication to Iraqi War heroes.

Yet West occasionally displays strong mayoral leadership, forcing Peter Griffin’s “four-bedroom republic” to rejoin the United States without sacrifice and protecting citizens in need.
