Timothy "Timmy" Tiberius Turner (Born March 21 1997) is a fictional character in the American animated television series The Fairly OddParents. He is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Turner, and is a 10 year-old fifth grade grade student (fourth grade student in the first and second seasons) who secretly has fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda.

Somewhat unacceptable, he often tends to make his wishes without thinking about the possible consequences of his actions, or how to explain the outrageous things he wishes for to his friends and family.

Timmy is responsible for a number of notable occurrences, just two of these being the exposure of Denzel Crocker's fairy godparents (although they would have been revealed anyway by Cosmo), and getting South and North Dakota to settle their differences and become a single American state. He also has Heat Vision, as in an episode of Season 1, he wished he had Heat Vision, and in an episode of Season 4, he remembers that he has Heat Vision, and manages to use it.

Creation

Timmy is named after Butch Hartman's younger brother. He was originally going to be named after Butch's older brother, Mike, but a fight between them prevented that. Timmy's choice of clothing was originally supposed to be blue, but according to Nickelodeon, Butch Hartman ran out of blue ink on his marker so he used pink instead. He first appeared on Oh Yeah! Cartoons.

Biography

Timmy was an average kid that no one understood with two fairy god parents and an evil babysitter named Vicky. Growing up in Dimmsdale, Timmy Turner's unnamed parents originally thought he was going to be a girl -- which explains Timmy's pink hat and shirt, along with several pictures of him in dresses.

When his parents went out to see a movie, he was left with Vicky the babysitter. Vicky made him do all types of back breaking chores. After all the chores were done, he went to his room and asked his magic 9 ball if his parents will come back, then the ball answered "Titanic, directors cut". This made Timmy angry because he knew that his parents would be at the cinema all night, so he threw the ball and something magical happened.

The ball split in half and came his assigned fairy godparents Cosmo and Wanda. At first, Timmy was rather shocked and threatened to call the police, but he eventually grew to love the fairies like they were his best friends. He defined his relationship with them quite well in the Oh Yeah! episode "The Zappys." Most of Timmy's misadventures are the unexpected results of the wishes that he makes. However, Timmy must also keep them concealed from everyone, especially Denzel Crocker, his suspicious schoolteacher with a lifelong goal of proving that fairies exist.

His main crush is on Trixie Tang, who shows signs of indifference towards him. Timmy has tried as hard as he can to get in Trixie's good book, including making selfish wishes to be popular (in Trixie's first appearance, "A Wish Too Far!"), becoming a girl to find out what she wanted for her birthday (in "The Boy Who Would Be Queen"), made it so the only life forms on earth were him and Trixie ("Just the Two of Us") and even trying to serenade her on Valentine's Day ("Love Struck").

Timmy may have never won Trixie Tang's affections as he has two children (son and daughter) in "Channel Chasers", that resemble Vicky's younger sister Tootie, who has a crush on Timmy (but since Tootie and Trixie both have black hair they look a little like Trixie too). His children are Tommy Turner and Tammy Turner.

Meanwhile, Timmy also has to worry about two other girls, both of whom have huge crushes on him--Veronica, Trixie's best friend (unknown to him until "Information Stupor Highway" and referenced again in "Miss Dimmsdale/Mind Over Magic"), and Tootie, Vicky's little sister. He also had a "relationship" with Cindy Vortex during an adventure where he accidentally switched places with Jimmy Neutron (The Jimmy Timmy Power Hour).

Timmy Turner as Cleft the Sidekick of the Crimson Chin

Timmy's favorite comic book superhero is The Crimson Chin, and Timmy himself is his sidekick, known as "Cleft, the Boy Chin Wonder." In the episode "Chin Up!" Timmy accidentally revealed to the Chin that he was just a comic book character, and the Chin lost his confidence. Timmy helped him regain it, as Cleft, the Boy Chin Wonder. He also defeated the Chin's evil twin, the NegaChin. Timmy has also donned the Cleft alter-ego in Crimson Chin bumpers played on Nickelodeon and Nicktoons Network, and also in the half-hour special "The Big Superhero Wish." He also idolizes a space hero called Crash Nebula who appeared in many episodes. Timmy has another alter-ego, The Masked Magician, in the episode with the same name.

It is also revealed that Timmy is a wrestling fan in Dog's Day Afternoon, as he is seen watching it twice as well as in The Boy Who Would Be Queen, when he watches it at the beauty salon. He is apparently afraid of clowns and feet and is allergic to oranges.

Alternate versions

  • 15-year old Timmy: Is slightly taller than 12 year old Timmy. This is the present Timmy as of today.
  • 16 year-old Timmy: Is much taller than 15 year old Timmy.
  • 17 year-old Timmy: Is wearing a prom suit and has a very deep voice.
  • 18 year-old Timmy: Has forgotten he had fairy godparents (meaning that he has grown up). Evidently goes to college and plays on a football team.

Look-alikes/Offspring/Alter Egos

Nega-Timmy

Nega Timmy was created when his father told him to be good right after he wished to do the direct opposite of what ever his parents told him to. He has two fangs, red eyes, tan skin, wears a cloak, is extremely intelligent, and is evil (in short the exact opposite of Timmy).

Imaginary Gary

Galactimus

In the episode "Mighty Mom and Dyno Dad", Timmy wishes his parents were superheroes, but later regretted it when they were too busy saving the world to spend time with him. Timmy wishes their powers were gone but they were, "so superpowerful they were invulnerable to magic," and could only be wished back if they willingly gave up their powers. so Timmy wishes himself to become his comic books most powerful cosmic entity, Galactimus (who is pretty much a lookalike of the Marvel Comics books' cosmic entity Galactus.) Galactimus was able to defeat Mighty Mom and Dyno Dad, and ordered Cosmo and Wanda (who both looked like the Silver Surfer, but with skateboards instead of surfboards) to remove his parents powers.

Tommy Turner (brother)

When Timmy comes to the conclusion that his life would be easier if he had a big brother in the episode Oh, Brother (namely after seeing Sanjay's relationship with his teenage stepbrother), he wishes that he, too, had a perfect older brother. But Tommy is too perfect, as it turns out: he's a doctor, an accomplished singer, and has served time in an organization similar to the Peace Corps working in the country of Tibecuador (probably a parody of Tibet and Ecuador, which Timmy made up and wished was real to account for his brother's whereabouts all this time, even to his parents). But, like all of Timmy's wishes, Tommy backfires when he convinces their parents that Timmy could benefit from doing some volunteer work in Tibecuador as well. Timmy finds out he can't wish Tommy away as Tootie has transferred her affections for Timmy to him, and as magic can't interfere with true love, Timmy has to once again endear himself to Tootie and turn her against Tommy so he can wish his brother away. Also, upon realizing that she has an eighteen year old son, Mrs. Turner begins to rapidly age in response to feeling old. Plus, Cosmo's jealousy is aroused when Wanda, like just about everyone else in the episode (except Cosmo) falls in love with Tommy. It seems that as of the end of this episode Tommy still exists, however: when Timmy wishes him away, he ends up back in Tibecuador, being the sickeningly perfect big brother figure to an island version of Timmy. When Tommy first appeared, the magical puff of smoke came with the name Wally Cleaver, the name of the older brother of the title character in Leave it to Beaver.

Tommy Turner (son) and Tammy Turner (daughter)

At the end of Channel Chasers, Tommy and his sister Tammy find out the time capusle that Timmy buried 20 years earlier. He and his sister live in the same house as Timmy's Mother and Father with their married parents Timmy and Tootie. Tommy and Tammy are babysat by the Vicky-bot (robot version of Vicky).

Tibecuador

A native version of Timmy Turner seen in Oh Brother. His enemy is Francisco and his new brother is Tommy.

Too many Timmys

In the Oh Yeah! Cartoons short Timmy wishes for a lot of clones of himself. 44 and a half clones appear. The half one being smaller than the rest of them. This is because when Wanda asks him his weight while they're granting his wish he says he weighs 44 and a half pounds and she takes his request for a ton of clones literally.
