About me and Wikipedia

I am a Wikipedia editor and have been editing on Wikipedia for over two years. I usually work on pages relating to transport and reality television. Most of my work is comprised of minor edits for the sake of grammar, syntax, and spelling. I also do some infobox editing. Many of my edits are for æsthetic reasons (easier reading of pages).

My first edit day is 12 August 2004. In 2007, I'll be turning three Wikiyears old.

Recent news

On 2 May 2007, I reached my 2000th edit on Wikipedia. I was editing Big Brother Australia 2007.

Behaviour on Wikipedia

Please care about your work, do not insult very respected members
May the sun shine down upon you and your weather be peaceful as you look within yourself and decide what is best for you, and you alone.

As some of you may know, many of the people who edit Wikipedia are actually morons who do more harm than good. For the record, I have had it with these "editors." Because of their inexcusable and stupid behaviour, I have lost two very special and hard-working members — Jeeny and 9cds — both of whom contributed so much and genuinely cared about their edits, especially in the area of Big Brother, which can be very hostile, most notably in the UK and US editions of the show. They were very persistent and adhered to the guidelines imposed on each article on which they worked.

I would especially like to talk about Jeeny. This year, I was one of the few members on Wikipedia who worked on last year's Big Brother US apart from T (back then he was FireSpike). Jeeny was also a relatively new member on the Big Brother WikiProject scene. Although in the beginning we had some disagreements, mostly about minutiae such as the colour of the "exempt" box for the nemeses in Week 1 and other small details that have since been resolved. However, we worked on these dilemmas with open attitudes, each citing our sources in an appropriate, non-vulgar, and professional (for Wikipedia standards, that is) way. Eventually, we became very good friends and worked alongside T as what could be considered the head editors of the Big Brother 8 (US) article. Occasionally we had our disagreements, whether they had been with each other or other users (notably Melanie 2408's unsupported deletion of housemate information). I came to realise that she and I did share something major in common: a conern for the slowly detereorating quality of the article. At one point, it had become so bad that we temporarily gave up on editing and trying to explain why people's edits were against the guidelines set forth by WP:BIGBRO, a group of users (including Jeeny and myself, I joined in 2006) who work on finding standards for worldwide Big Brother articles.

After that point, Jeeny and I came back and tried to improve on the work that had been made on the page. Now, even though it wasn't the behaviour of Big Brother editors that caused her retirement, it became increasingly apparent that people wouldn't listen to experienced members. So here, today (16 August 2007 UST-5), I was going through my talk page, about to write on Jeeny's talk page about something, I now forget what it was, when I saw this on her page:

R       E       T       I       R       E        D

This user is no longer active on Wikipedia.

It was truly devastating. Most people don't understand how much of a loss it is when someone who shows so much devotion to an area and has a yearn to constantly improve on what has already been done not only for his or her benefit but for everyone who has an interest and would like to learn. Wikipedia helped me so much when I wanted to re-learn things about previous series of Big Brother that I had forgotten over the years and I'm sure that it's done the same for others not only in the United States but in the United Kingdom and even Australia.

I've put this "in memoriam" dedication here for Jeeny, 9cds, and all editors who have left because other users who have frustrated them to the point of voluntary leave. Jeeny, if you read this, please understand how much not only I but many other editors do care about your contributions. You don't need to come back if you feel uncomfortable, but you have been a very special editor to all of us.

  • Wikisteph888 She placed false information on the hell's kitchen season 3 page. She made Bonnie the winner when Rock was, on the day of the show. Disgraceful. Such actions should not be tolerated.
