SummerSlam 1999 was the twelfth annual SummerSlam professional wrestling pay-per-view event from the World Wrestling Federation. It took place on August 22, 1999 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The tagline was "An Out of Body Experience", in reference to Jesse "The Body" Ventura who was the Special Referee for the main event.

  • This event marked Jesse Ventura's second referee job in a SummerSlam main event. The first was the original held in 1988.
  • Zakk Wylde, lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and leader of Black Label Society, appears in the bar across the street from the arena in the Hardcore title match.
