Jess Kedwell Vanstrattan (born July 19 1982 in Gosford) is an Australian football (soccer) goalkeeper who currently plays for Juventus in the Italian Serie A.

Career

Vanstrattan first moved to Verona in 2001, but was not a starter early on, spending time on loan at Carrarese Calcio where he made his first team debut in Italy. On his return to Verona he made eight appearences before a brief loan spell at Ancona.

Juventus move

He would be involved in a controversial transfer saga in the summer of 2007. After ending his contract with Verona (which was due expire in 2008), Jess returned home to Australia in June, citing personal reasons, only to sign for Juventus a month later.[1]

Vanstrattan played some pre-season games for the Old Lady, becoming the first Australian to turn out for the club. However, in early August 2007, the Lega Calcio ruled that the goalkeeper's contract at Juventus was illegal and was to be cancelled.

Now officially under contract to Verona once again, the two clubs have agreed on a loan deal which saw the player return to Juventus on August 21 in time for the 2007-08 Serie A season.[2]
