Out Hud is an electronic dance rock band formed in 1996 in the Bay Area of California (although all members now reside in New York). The band consists of guitarist Tyler Pope, bassist Nic Offer, cellist Molly Schinct, vocalist/drummer Phyllis Forbes and mixer Justin VanDerVolgen. Pope, Offer, and VanDerVolgen are also members of the similar band, !!!. The band is produced under the label Kranky. Their latest release, Let Us Never Speak of It Again, sees the group move in a tech house direction and for the first time add vocals to their music, with Phyllis Forbes singing while a drum machine fills in her usual role.
