Fission
In general, fission is a splitting of something into its parts.
Similar ways which this definition is used include:
- In physics, nuclear fission is a process where a large atomic nucleus (such as uranium) is split into two smaller nuclei.
- In biology, binary fission refers to the mitosis process whereby a prokaryote reproduces by cell division. It is similar to the mitosis and meiosis processes in eukaryotes.
