User talk:Riana/Archive 35/Talk header

A user contends that the images he keeps putting in the article are fair use and I disagree. Can I get your opinion. youngamerican (wtf?) 18:47, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They are fair use, Why would you remove them if you don't have suitable replacements? Before you revert/remove, take it to the discussion page. That's why it's there.Sixstring1965 21:34, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(question regarding sixstring) Hi Riana, concerning the above editor, I was wanting to know if a request had ever been made as per this conversation (fyi, SS, above, has been indef blocked). If he has sent an email as I suggested, I will look at his situation differently than I do now. If he has not then I can only assume this is correct and will not waste any more time. Thanks in advance, R. Baley 08:00, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

For the revert, and performing that block. :) Acalamari 02:07, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

unprotect request

Hi Riana, are you still online? Could you please unprotect my current talk page so that I can archive it? Maybe you can move protect User talk:Kyoko/Archives too. Once I have moved the talk page, could you please fully protect the archived page(s) and semi my new talk page? I know it's a lot of tasks, and I appreciate it. Thanks! --Kyoko 14:51, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done! :) ~ Riana 14:58, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! :) --Kyoko 15:00, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What a nice way to start a talk page too! Just don't get carried away. I had to tell one person to stop filling my page with full-screen smilies. --Kyoko 15:06, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, don't worry, no danger of that here (see my own header for thoughts) :p ~ Riana 15:07, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I know you wouldn't do that. Leaving now. Goodbye! --Kyoko 15:10, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sagbliss

I sent you a message which I am not sure I put on the correct page. I am a busy woman who has worked on get issues and am very familiar with the get case in Canada which is emerging law on the barriers to remarriage. This fellow Bruno is a vindictive fellow. The issue is to remove barriers to remarriage for women. All the men involved are abusive. The whole article is contextualy wrong. The correct article which has been blocked from the WIkipedia site. I framed the article with the titles that were originally written. Each and every section has cites which all these men have not read including Nishkid who is siding with these men. You are a woman. Whether you are Jewish or Muslim, a man could do this to you one day. Read the correct version of the article. And further, look at Nishkid's talk page and the notes at the bottom of my user page which admits that he has not read. And do note that your suggestion was ignored. Farmbrough stated the same thing as you. It was ignored. --Sagbliss 17:04, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, Deskana got it (thank you so much, Deskana). When I saw, er, why, when, and how it was created, and [ahem] which previous versions of which pages it shouwed up (transcluded) on, I was about ready to puke. —  $PЯINGεrαgђ  03:30, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Advice please

Image:Maze Prison escape.jpg - would you consider that acceptable fair use even though it's high resolution? If it's made into a low resolution (300 px I think?) image it's pointless, as people won't be able to see the detail. Thanks. One Night In Hackney303 04:30, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Random comment: if the source provides it as a high-resolution image, I don't believe we have to be too concerned with that particular criteria (though I could be wrong). Personally, I tend to see the low-res requirement as being more applicable to album covers and the like, where it's entirely possible to create a higher-resolution version of something (and to be used for improper purposes, as well). Sounds fair. You see the article it's used in is currently a GA nom, and I know how picky they are over there about the size of images, I've just seen an article failed for (amongst other things) a fair use image being over 300 px. However if you look at Maze Prison escape you can see the image at 300 px, and see that if that's the maximum size that can even be on the servers then there's no point using the image at all. From my understanding of fair use there are certain circumstances when high resolution images are acceptable, and I'm hoping this would be one of them?
