Kuririn (クリリン, Kuririn) is a fictional character in the manga Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z, and the anime for Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT. In the original Japanese version, he was voiced by Mayumi Tanaka. In the English dub, he was originally voiced by Terry Klassen and later Sonny Strait (as an adult), and by Laurie Steele (as a child).

Kuririn is introduced in Dragon Ball as a rival (and later friend) of the main character, Son Goku. Later in the series, he can also be seen to have a close relationship with Goku's child, Son Gohan. Kuririn eventually settles down and marries No. 18.[1]

Name and origin

Like most Dragon Ball characters, Kuririn's name is a pun. In his case, it is made up of two parts. The first two syllables come from kuri, which means "chestnut", a reference to his shaved head. The "chestnut" pun is also carried over to Marron, who is revealed to be his daughter.Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).
