Disappearance of Madeleine McCann

The McCanns have not received £1 million and it is defamatory to say so. The Fund has received the money; a very different situation. This is well covered by the page Response to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. TerriersFan 23:28, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking policy

Edinburgh University ip address, no use of blocking this one since it's a different person every time and blocking means missing out on loads of constructive edits on complicated subjects by university schooled people. --194.81.255.254 13:45, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The over-riding consideration is the protection of the Project. If that means missing out on good edits then so be it. The way forward is for people who wish to contribute positively to create an account. TerriersFan 23:31, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I totally agree with you, TerriersFan. I think it unlikely we will lose any valid input; experience suggests that constructive contributiors rarely hide behind IP addresses, whereas vandals usually do. Carbonix 23:39, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Warnings

September 2007

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Pollock Halls of Residence. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Grblundell 21:52, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop vandalizing Rupert Grint. If you have a source that says his name is "Carruthers," include it. Otherwise, please refrain from adding it. Thank you. faithless (speak) 22:25, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Rupert Grint, you will be blocked from editing. Oda Mari (talk) 19:01, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

October 2007

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Sickle-cell disease, you will be blocked from editing. TerriersFan 23:55, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocks

You have been temporarily blocked from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. TerriersFan 17:10, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you wish to contribute to this encyclopedia, please create an account at home and log in with it here.

Due to persistent vandalism (see edit log), editing by anonymous users from your school, library or institution's IP address may be currently disabled. If you are logged in but still unable to edit, please follow these instructions. To prevent abuse, account creation via this IP address is probably also disabled.

If accounts need to be created at school for class projects, please have your teacher or network administrator contact us (with reference to this IP address) at unblock-en-l from an email address listed on your school's website. Alternatively, if you have no Internet access at home, you may email us using your school-issued email address, telling us your preferred username. An account will be created for you. Please check on this list that the username you choose has not already been taken.

Thank you. — TerriersFan 17:15, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Do not delete

November 2007

Please do not delete content from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to New Year's Eve. Your edits do not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox for test edits. Thank you. TOL 21:47, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make any unconstructive edits, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant warnings.

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page Shine On (Jet song) worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox. Thank you.
